What is so good about it? I really dislike multiplayer games for various reasons and much prefer single player RPGs.
And who said that DOS2 is a multiplayer game? You can play it in co-op, sure, but I guess most of people here play it on sp, which seems to be most basic experience.
"And who said that DOS2 is a multiplayer game?"
Calling it the 'most basic experience' probably has a lot to do with it lol
It works same way with any game that has multiplayer option, but it doesnt necessary mean that these games are first of all multiplayer games.
You dislike every game that has option to play multi? You must be disliking quite a few games...
Pretty much. Prefer to play at my own pace, in my own time, my own way :)
So, when game allows you to actually play the way you want to play - like, lets say: single player mode, you dislike the game because there is a sneaky multiplayer also available?
Well... dont get me wrong... you sure can dislike everything you want to. My mother in law went so far with disliking everyone that she seems to dislike herself, but someone asked whether game is worth playing. Your answer was not really helpful, I guess. Though, I might be wrong.
There seems to be a misunderstanding here. I don't dislike games that HAVE multiplayer, I just don't play Multiplayer. I thought DOS:2 was a multiplayer only game.
Well, okay.
DOS2 is mostly SP game - at least I consider this as a SP game. It means that it is fully playable as SP and you dont miss anything playing SP way. There is a co-op, which seems a pretty nice addon, but I never tested it... for the reason stated by some other smart guy:
Tbh, I've been held back from buying it because I've heard it's ridiculously difficult for someone who's not really versed in turn-based RPGs. However, I am 100% gonna be looking at guides anyway to figure out how to build the character/class/party I want to have, so perhaps it isn't as big an issue as people make it out to be.
I found BG3 to be a bit challenging too, but it's still enjoyable to play, so I'll likely pick this up on sale. Just getting opinions from people who own and have played through this game a lot before finalizing my decision.
You are not wrong. Multiplayer in this game is just an optional add on, most people don't even play it in coop. If you do it the experience will be great since the devs implemented coop very well here, but you don't miss anything if you solely play it in single player mode.
Not gonna lie, it can be a bit daunting since there is so much freedom with the characters builds, in that respect BG3 is easier to approach. Here you also have action point management and elemental interactions are way more important. In substance, combat is more complex and more open and you can say the same for character builds. Still, is not as difficult to understand as it seems at the beginning and you can respec as much as you want after the initial chapter (you can also respec in the first chapter if you activate the option but then you can't get achievements).
