What happens if i kill all the origin characters and Magister Siwan when they are knocked out?

Basically title, I walked up to a beast guy after the lady exploded everyone and tried to pickpocket him and instead i killed him. Got a nice hat though. Is he dead forever now?

I think he will still come back at act 2, the origin characters have a good plot armor at the start of the game so you don't lock yourself out of their character quests too easily

Yeah, pretty sure you're forgiven for tutorial stuff. Now, if you kill them on the beach after you get off the ship, they won't become available later.

Yeah, nobody stays dead after the prologue ship.

One thing worth noting is after the source blast scene on the prologue ship, you can pikcpocket them while they are lying on the ground (requires thievery), which will give you some extra health potions and rez scrolls.

you can also just not recruit a single one of them and instead recruit mercs

The same potions and scrolls you can get by just recruiting them later. If you don’t plan to keep them, I recommend hiring them all as shadowblades. This defaults their civil points to thievery in case you wish to use them later for additional thefts.
