Is it possible to have an artificer-like build in this game without mods?
I have a question for you folks: EXPLOSIONS?
I'd really love to make a build centered aroud throwing stuff at your enemies: granades, molotovs, chloroform, delploy mass traps you name it! I was tempted to also add stuff like overcharged bloated corpse if i lack skills, but i'm not sure if would fit the artificer theme.
I'm not sure how to proceed regarding weapons, stats, traits and other skills that i may be ignoring the existence (based on a lone wolf character btw) - i'd be really grateful if anyone could lend a hand :)

You could probably manage an artificer style build. Off the top of my head, there is a talent that reduces the AP cost of throwing grenades and another that increases range. There are a whole lot of possible grenades to craft and a few skills that create traps. That said, you would have to make an effort to do a bunch of crafting which can be a pain in this game. I would probably build that character as a rogue since you need an empty offhand to benefit from the grenade throwing talent.

Here's an example I threw together: https://divinity-2-planner.riovir.com/en/character/1/edit?data=v3-1,20,s,2m2wm3f5w27fw,2h2p6w2s3g4w2a,5hl,bEJl_,,T,d,_,FtFdFjSaScSlSbSsSrSeAnAeAuHtWb

Though, you would also pick up the worm tremor skill from geomancer.

Play epic encounters 2 with derpy's addon. It has a ton of support for grenade throwing build, like refunding grenades you throw, damage scaling, and source infusion which causes grenades to explode multiple times. and of course ap cost reduction when only using 1 weapon.

personally grenades are mostly for utility as its an easy way to get whatever environmental effect you want reguardless of class. ambidextrous makes them better but im not sure they can keep up with scaling for damage
