Quick question about Lone Wolf and multiplayer.
So I am about to play a four player game with a few newer players, and was briefly plotting out a character. And, thinking it through, there are a few quests/fights I want to do that I am pretty sure they will not do and I do not want to push them into anything. It's their first playthrough so I want them to take the lead without my influence.

But I'd still like to do those myself. Then I remembered that the lone wolf perk exists. So, how exactly does that work?

Like, if I take the lone wolf perk, I know that when we are all fighting together it will do nothing since there are four of us. And that's fine. But, if I take on a fight completely alone, far away from everyone else, will I get my perk? Or will it be deactivated simply because three other players exist somewhere within the universe?

Lone Wolf is party dependent, If you have 1-2 in the party, regardless of distance, you get the Lone Wolf bonuses. If you have 3-4 in the party, you don't, regardless of distance or who is actually in a fight.

So there will never be a situation where it can activate as long as the four players exist within the game world? That sucks.

Ah well, just means I gotta have a tighter strategy.
What if you remove members from the party? like when you make war?
They're not in the party but can still move with u no?

I am not sure how to do that actually.

I think it does allow it to work, though I don't know what complications it might also bring.

I noticed you can right click a party member (like their character in the world) -> kick from/leave party. I haven't found a use for this yet but I'm pretty sure it'd be what you want.
edit: do note that lone wolf works with up to 2 people in this edition! if u can get just one guy in on your plans you'll have an easier time

I don't see that option in my test run, but maybe it comes up later. Thanks for the help though.

Same to everyone, thanks for the quick help/info. ^.^

well, it wouldn't appear in your test run, if it's just you there. you can only boot out and make war with players playing as independent characters (I think not just followers you picked up, but people who were there from the start). I will say I didn't even notice the option till after act 1 ended, though.

You need other people actually playing at the time to make war.

I used debug client profiles to make it a four player game with just me. (Host the game, then minimize and open the game files, and launch the game again from the application, not steam. Join yourself on LAN. Minimize, open another from the files, join self over LAN, etc.)

But I also did not go very far past the first few quests at fort Joy because moving four people in four separate windows is a pain in the ass. But I think it regards debug clients as actual players?
