You're supposed to just assemble your squad and roll with it. Each potential party member has their own issues to deal with and makes no promises to you that they'll just stick around ready for action when not actively in your party. This isn't Mass Effect.
Def do not play Pathfinder then, you play with 6 active party members and still can have more in the back, which have quests and other things. Then I made a decision in a run which auto killed one of my main party members. It was devastating but amazing. Because that was such a unique experience due to the combinations of things I did, I can easily have a whole new experience if I decide to play through again.
Same with DOS 2. The game is meant to be played with 2 or 4 party members. You have 6 story characters that you can use if you so wish. You can also just have generic people that don't have those stories. You have options, the only thing that limits your options is your mentality. If managing 6 people is too much, just do 4. If 4 is even too much, get lonewolf and only go with 2 people.
IMO a good option is that you can do a play your first run with a full party of 4, then do a lone wolf on your 2nd run and thus only played through the game once with each story character.
This game is monstrously long.
I don't have the time to play it 5 times over.
Once is good enough. Be how unique that experience be.
That is fair and true. One tip I will drop then, Fane has the most story tied to the main game. Sebs and Lohse both have well regarded stories. But take who you like in the end as you say it is a long game so you want the people you like with you.
I will also mention the MP in this game. I agree I have a hard time sitting through a long single player game. However with some friends, it doesn't matter how long the game is as we are just having fun in the adventure
I think the game would be too easy then. Battles.
That is like having a 50% positive handicap increase in battles.
? I don't think that is true at all. Take note on the party size stipulation.
Skill description:
Lone Wolf provides +2 Max AP, +2 Recovery AP, +30% Vitality, +60% Physical Armour, +60% Magic Armour, and doubles invested points in attributes - up to a maximum of 40- and combat abilities (except Polymorph ability) - up to a maximum of 10, while you are adventuring solo or with at most one companion. This bonus is temporarily removed while there are more than two members in the current party.
I mean he went real literal and had a interesting play style. You can indeed have 2 party members working together however. However if you have a party size larger than 2 you will loose the lone wolf benefit no matter where they are on a map.
Interesting all.
