[SPOILER] reward for Shadow over Drifwood

hey.
started playing this game few days back, I have to say ive been binging.

after quite a struggle, I clear the whole cave, and dealt with Mordus, with 2 lvl 11 lone wolfs.
took my quite a few attempts.
then when I head back to Lohar, the reward items are lvl9. does the game expect you to be able to complete this quest at lvl9? am I missing something?

There are a few turn-ins with Lohar, are you sure you've been given credit for killing Mordus? If memory serves, you need to speak to Lohar with a character holding Mordus's necklace to properly complete the quest.

hey. yes I did bring the amulet back, quest has been completed. and in the little window where you chose an reward item, there was the items I speak about.

The quest reward should be Lohar's Source Hammer, a level 11-12 item. Maybe that level 9 reward was for a different turn-in associated with the caravan quest or similar, and you completed it at the same time?

yep I have the source hammer, it is indeed level 11. but then Idk. i had already reported the caravan way earlier, and this game as the extra reward.

meh, maybe a bug or something.

mainly, I wanted to know if this was some kind of indication that i'm not doing great and shouldve been able to take Mordus at level 9 :)

Ok I dont get it. I had a save right before speaking with Lohan.

right after the dialog where I give him Mordus' amulet, talk about going to arx blabla, I get a reward screen that does not contain the source hammer (see screenshot).
yet, I have the source hammer.

I really don't understand. if it's from an earlier quest, I don't know which.
also, are you supposed to get a "chosable reward" for Mordus along with source hammer?

I've had a rare bug before where quest rewards get "caught" and show up way later. Maybe you coincidentally got a different, lower-level quest reward at the same time?

Anyway, bug or no bug, it's definitely not an indication that you should have taken on Mordus much earlier. He's a level 11-12 encounter, and it's not intended that you'd get level 9 gear for doing it. You're doing fine.

I honestly don't remember if you get a choosable reward for killing Mordus, since I'm always focused on the bombshell Source Hammer reward. I seem to remember that you don't, but I could easily be wrong.
