Has crossplay worked for anyone?
Keep logging in and the whole nine yards on my Switch then it says "Steam Profile Error" - "A game profile created in Steam is needed to use the cross-save feature. The cross-save feature will be disables"

Then it turns off the setting. Tried multiple times my connection is fine, as it logs in and authenticates fine.

Cross save has worked for me. I've only used it twice and the only issue I've ran into is on my switch is both times it wouldnt sync the first time I opened the game and I have to close the the game and reopen it, but it did on the 2nd time.

I have used cross saves between steam and switch for a whole play through.
It can be a bit temperamental with syncing every now and then.

I tried it a couple of times, made a thread on the technical issues section. Cant find a way for it to work. I read all the forums and posts around, but nothing. I always played definitive edition so I dont have any Classic saves around. Dont get it.

Same case as Brother Josh. It failed to work the first time, but when I closed the software and tried again, it worked like a charm. I hope you guys find some way to make it work for you.

I tried that several times as well and when I log in, it says the same: Error Steam...

I gave up, made a new fresh start lol. They need to polish that system a bit more or make a video explaining the different issues one might encounter and how to fix them or work around them.

Agreed. It's nice that it's an option but clearly was not thoroughly evaluated. I actually had difficulties recently with my cross save so I decided to abandon it and start playing with mods on pc.

Yo, I don't know if this helps, but when I did it, I made the Profile on the PC side the same as the profile on the Switch side... this seemed to work after creating it in Steam then closing both the Switch and PC versions then launching the swich one again.

Maybe it's a bit late but what @kennynapalm writes works. Thanks for the tip have really long searched.

@kennynapalm this worked for me as well. I had the same problem but for iPad version. I had a profile saved on iPad that I wanted to play on pc and couldn't connect. Created a profile on PC with exact same name as iPad then closed everything (including steam). Opened back up on iPad and it synced with Steam.

What fixed this for me is I had to make a second, dummy profile, in the steam game. I just called it test. Once I did that, the iOS version synced the saves and asked me which profile I wanted to use. For some reason, it didn't like to work with just one profile.
