Holy Amounts Of Loot
I started collecting everything that was not nailed down to the floorboards. Now I made it to Driftwood and I have sooooooo much junk! It seems like almost everything has a use but does it really even matter? I am starting to play inventory wars and it is bogging down my progression thru the game.

I collect just about everything of value. If one of my party members isn't wearing it (or if it isn't something they'll use in a specific situation) then it's going in the wares bin. Selling wares is quick and earns you tons of cash. I almost never use potions, unique arrows, grenades, scrolls, but they don't really add too much weight if you distribute them appropriately for your party.

As far as crafting materials go, I collect as much of this as I can too, just in case I ever want to craft something. I never really do, but again they don't add up to too much weight.

Definitely sell weapons and gear you aren't actually using or have a plan for. When you loot a corpse, hover over the item and if you aren't going to use it, just right-click and store in wares.

I found knock out arrow to be very useful.

This game definately takes loot too far. It feels as though some items were "planned" to have a use, but they never had the budget or deadline to finish the design for it.

A trick I learned after countless hours of inventory management (one of the crude systems of this game), is you can place stackables in a bag (or chest), and then place that bag into the Storage Chest. When you send items to the Storage Chest, it will go into the bag for easier organization. If the bag becomes too heavy, you need Telekinesis to grab it for crafting, etc.

Use the autosort function in the inventory. Everything between the elemental essences and your keys is used for scroll crafting. Sort through steam guides for a crafting guide and look up scrolls you might use. Learn those ingredients and toss the rest. Rune crafting is important, but crafting the small runes from nothing is generally not cost effective. So items used for that can be sold, save the pixie dust.

Food isn’t worth much, though some like pumpkin soup can have value. Many raw foods like onions, pears and such aren’t useful really either. If I have time, I’ll link you the guide I reference for crafting. It helps in learning what to keep and what to toss.

Also, the ship is “safe” for permanent storage. You can dump there safely.

I actually thought Raw Lumpy Giblets and Raw Red Meat are really good. They have a lot of those and are used to make:
Living on Edge
Raise Bloated Corpse

I found those spells among the most useful.

Definately look out for Feathers. You can combine an Knife-ish item and Pillow to to turn the Pillow into a Feather so look out for those too.
Teleport Scroll (probably the best scroll in the game according to some accounts)

Yeah, but the one issue with teleport scrolls is that the ability is at its most powerful when spammed. This means that you’ll want to use a bunch in a row, meaning that they are going to be spent fast. Having an ambidextrous elf cast four teleport scrolls for 1AP each, use flesh sacrifice for 1 AP and adrenaline for 2 more, then using Worm Tremor with the torturer talent to root the 4-5 enemies now clustered together and ending with a smoke grenade on them effectively bunches up 4-5 enemies to be burned down with AoE whole also effectively preventing them from taking any action. But that is going to cost you 6 consumables including 4 teleport scrolls. You’ll dominate that fight, but you can’t rely on having that all the time. That’s kinda the point of consumables I suppose. Powerful, but limited.

I feel like a lot of players do that. You can use a consumable now, or should you save it for later? Once you’ve played through a few times you learn when certain items are best used, like a mind maggot grenade on the ship boarding part at the transition between act one and two. There’s only so many mind maggot grenade mats all game, so they’re very limited. That is the best place to use the first though.

they need to add a sort gear by level button lol... so you can vendor off things 2+ under you easier.
Ive kinda given up on most crafting. If you search every nook, beef up your finding talent. Around level 10 or so you start finding legendary items left and right.
grind up all the skulls and vendor the powder in act 1, to help buy books. There are probably some other high value recipes as well for when you are poor?

you can say the same about lock picking. Lock picking is everywhere, yet all you get is trash from 99% of the stuff you crack open. But I feel downright compelled to be able to open the stuff.

And you aren’t selling all of that stuff because... because... ?

Don’t forget thievery is for more than lockpicking. Pickpocketing is incredibly useful, especially if you do it at the proper levels. I leave act one with all the best gear available to buy, 2-6 copies of every skillbook, hoards of crafting items and consumables and something like 160-200k gold. Some people leave with almost none of that and 20k or less.
