Bug with Stingtail's drudanae?

Does Stingtail only accepts "Griff's overpriced drudanae"?
I first went to Stingtail and decided to save the elf. However before I went to Griff I encountered the rogue companion and I think I might have gave him some drudanae.
Anyway, I refused to rat out Stingtail and killed Griff. I obtained an item named "Griff's drudanae", yet Stingtail still says he lacks the component for his vision. I reloaded then tried to go to Stingtail with the drudanae-containing oranges before I faced off with Griff but the result is still the same.
I then reloaded again and bought the overpriced drudanae from Griff, only then Stingtail would explained his vision. This seems bizarre given how the item Griff's drudanae seem to have no use after the quest. Both should be counted as the trigger items for Stingtail.
*Killing Griff will lose the opportunity to obtain drudanae as well. Therefore I had to buy it before I killed him...252 is a lot of gold at that stage of the game.

You can find drudanae on the ground at some locations.

But hasn't Stingtail stolen the drudanae from Griff?

The quest is definitely bugged. I tried several ways to give Stingtail the drudanae but never got a dialogue choice to give it to him. I had the overpriced version , the removed from the orange version and the post mortem Griff version and he wouldn't take any of it from me.

You can get Stingtail to take the drudanae he stole off griff as well, just tell him to screw the elf and that the vision is more important.

griff lol. i tried to save the elf and didn't want to listen to griff. fought him and killed him. then i talk to stingtail i still could use griff's name to get the drudanae without problems.
griff really knew how to make the people fear him

He does thake the Overpriced version and he also takes any other that for instance Butters and Noosey are selling. But i have not found a way to not kill eighter him or Griff. Maybe Catch Silent before she is killing him!?

Lol it worked you can kill Silent the killer, you will be in combat with both and Stingtail is going to attack you, Kill Silent - flee combat and Stingtail will be might happy after that.

You have to drop the orange, then click to search it and the drudanae appears to add to your inventory.
