Thanks so much for the info! We just sort of left her alone because I'd only ever seen her aggro and turn all the other dogs against the player. We're to a point in the game where her mates in that room are all agressive no matter what so I'll save this for my next round.
Subtext of the situation. Buddy watched Emmie get dragged off. By the time you arrive, Birdie is undergoing the "conditioning" Emmie recently went through.
Basically, you arrive too late to save Emmie, but just in time to save Birdie.
Buddy's key opens all the doors in that area, not just the one to the room with Birdie.
They wanted a second red ball and were tired of fighting each other for the one. Seriously though, they also will run out and atack if you attack the silent monks near the doors after giving them the ball if you leave their door open.
Anyway... after five reloads and trying all the options, Seduction was what worked for me. Otherwise, I would have had to wait for points and maybe come back later.
