You can attack them from height - I took a right side. There is a just one ladder - easy to def and possible to keep ice there.
General rule - have to keep them knoked down or frozen - that helped.
Helpers from seekers - that is a joke indeed =)
The way I fought it, position yourself outside the doorway in the courtyard. Send one person to 'aggro' Alexander. As soon as the battle begins, teleport the talker back with your gloves.
At this point you play endurance. Hold your ground in the courtyard, keeping Alex and the beastie CC'd until the worm awakens. Then you leg it and let them duke it out. Make sure to help out the worm by taking potshots with your spells when you have the opportunity.
That bugs me - couse I had to stand on top by sea side, and he only apperead when last of magisters was killed.
Yeah same here.
It is. That's the only one I found though, where is the other/s?
But I'm encouraged by this thread. I'm glad there's DIFFICULT stuff in the game that requires thought and strategy, instead of being a piece of ♥♥♥♥ braindead ... I dunno, almost all other games these days
Ah. another one of these Alexander THe Greats... ;))
Anyways, it seems this encounter is abit broken

I assume bless spell needed to open cursed lock, and jars(that i destroed or absorbed) for gargolies.
Really, pretty standard tactics for a tough boss fight in this game, to be honest. Worked as well as it usually does.
Now I can't wait for chapter 2!
Here was my party at the beginning of the battle:
Sebille (Main): http://prntscr.com/cizxno
Lohse: http://prntscr.com/cizxyd
Ifan: http://prntscr.com/cizy2d
Red Prince: http://prntscr.com/cizyl1

This fight is relatively easy if you have 2 melee and 2 ranged. I used my Dwarven fighter, the red prince, and my 2 girls who are badasses.
My Strategy:
Blow the barrel up pre-fight on the right side in the small corridor and set it aflame. Bless yourself and turn it into holy fire. Trigger the fight while you're in the corridor and make sure your 2 ranged characters are in the back or you'll get stomped. As they all came up to surround me I was able to double cripple with my fighter and the Prince in order to chunk down their physical armour. After that I could alternate my knockdowns on them while the wand chick whittled away at their magic armor when she wasn't on buff/heal duty. Since everybody is all clumped together this makes things nice and easy for Sebille(sp?)'s richochet and piercing arrows along with her sniper shot for a real good physical armor chunk. Once the Bishops magic armor is gone then you can use decaying touch (I put some necro pts on the Prince) so that if he DID happen to move in the holy fire he wouldn't have gotten healed. Luckily with the cramped spaces moving for them is limited to very little. If you get overwhelmed just teleport one of the tougher characters as far away as possible so they have to use AP to run all the way back.
I got lucky and the worm took care of the archer and mage on the left side for me however so long as you stay in that corridor the mage can't see you and either has to a) move to a strange location to attack or b) bide their time.
Also, I believe shooting a fire arrow into holy fire deals splash heals. At least that's what seemed ot happen once the archer shot one into me. I'll admit, I did flee from combat after the magisters were dead in order to regroup and go in at the worm in a more spread out pattern to avoid mass-knockdowns. It was definitely a tough fight strategically but once that was figured out it wasn't to bad. In fact, a lot of the fights in this game are super tough but they're oh so rewarding.
