Voidwoken Delegate

I am playing Definitive Edition on GOG and ran across the Voidwoken Delegate in the Library. I heard his story, however wanted to initiate combat with him. I've seen on fandom site that he should attack you after the conversation, however for me it just runs away into the fast travel point. Is this how it suppose to be or there is a way to trigger the combat with him?

yea, you need to hit him the moment he starts moving. I think I used my ranged character for that

Is this the Delegate in the Academy? When you enter and talk with him just have a character that isn't talking with him start attacking him, this will cause him to enter combat with you after you are done talking.
