1) Thieving. of course easy when you can respec characters, everyone has max thieving and gear and each person takes turns robbing vendors. 4 characters can jump on a vendor with 40,000 gold and clean them out.
2) Vendor gold drop. Some vendors can drop their inventory gold when killed, so you can just buy out all their stuff, kill them and get all your gold back on their bodies. Resell all the stuff to another gold drop vendor and repeat. Easy to do once you figure out if a vendor drops their gold inventory or not.
3) Glitch abuse. Never tried it myself but some have talked about gold bag selling/reselling or such. Not sure if it still currently works but that's another way.
Me, i tried the thieving route, and realized that was a good way to go early game fort joy/marshes since most vendors in the early game don't drop their vendor gold, you have to wait until the 2nd island to do it. So stealing was very good early on to grab extra inventory. Also late game vendors don't seem to drop their gold, but usually at that point in the game you have tons of gold with nothing to spend it on, so really you don't bother with stealing at all since you already have 500,000 gold stashed away on your ship and still 300,000 your lugging around with still nothing to spend it on.
