right click Divinity 2 in your games list, click Properties and type --skip-launcher in launch options.
Good to know I can skip it lal, or work around it
However even if you do put *--skip-launcher* in your properties/launch options you will get an error message about the program having to close. So you either have to use the launcher or get an error message about the launcher being closed. A piss poor experience either way.
I'm not even a big fan of isometric RPGs but I did like Larian as a developer until this f**king garbage. Makes Baulder's Gate 3 an easy non-purchase decision for me given the lack of respect Larian has for their customers with this BS.
EDIT: Figured it out. If you write the location of the EoCApp executable in the launch options (your location may be different) you can launch from Steam directly and bypass the launcher (for now). Must use quotes at beginning and end with a space between the location string and %command%.
Example:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Divinity Original Sin 2\DefEd\bin\EoCApp.exe" %command%
