Void Woken Deep Dweller? 271+ damage per swing+ every CC in game?
So my friend and i finally are starting to runt through the alpha noticed a few bugs but then we ran across this group of undead in the swamp. They had i think was like 3 melee 2 archers, and 2 or 3 mages plus this Void Woken Deep Dweller now, up until this point we've managed to win most fights. Even if we died we managed to go back use better tactics to win, but this fight was just outright insanity. Between all the CC spam from the undead, and this deep dweller just teleporting into middle of our group and and 2 shotting our tank, and the absurd amount of action points these guys have the whole fight felt a little unfair.

The undead seem pretty diffcult BUT we can deal with those its the deep dweller that just felt outright unfair. So we managed to kill the undead save 1 caster, and then he decides to teleport into the middle of our team. Turns to the red prince, and two shots him through his 371 armor, and 321 hp inside of like 1 turn he dropped the prince, killed our healer. Before he deiceds to go offensive he spams every CC in the game like candy.

1: aoe curse
2: shocks the ground
3: can teleport at will
4: uses shackles of pain
5: petrify ability
6: high dodge rate because we seem to miss him alot...

and probably more... so i'm curious amd i just missing something about this guy? or is he just suppose to be a big ass deturrent for you to turn the ♥♥♥♥ around and piss off. Because after 2-3 battles this guy just made whole experience a living nightmare! glad to see the difficulty ramp up in this one, but wowzers... this thing takes the cake... anyone actually beat this encounter? if so how did you deal with all the CC?

It's a hard fight, but not impossible. I did it the day before the alpha 3 update, but it took me a fair amount of tries before I did it. I sneak the whole party up on the tallest platform ( you have to enter the location from where the burning pigs are), where the aerothurge mage and the archer is (The same platform as the archer. There is by the way only only archer, and two melee fighters) For your first attack, sneak your archer as close to the Deep dweller as possible, and use Snipe to start off the fight. (This absorbs all the physical armour, and deals some damage to the Dweller) Before the fight, put your other characters as far away from the ledges as possible, to avoid attack from the spellcasters in the first round. Also in the first round, teleport the archer down to the ground, as far as possible you can. The deep dweller is vulnerable to fire, so fire is good to use on him. If you do everything right, you can take out the Deep Dweller in the first round. The rest is still a hard fight, because you use most of your spells in the first round. If you keep your focus on killing the aerothurge caster, and the archer after the Deep Dweller, things should go your way. :)

That was actually the hardest fight on my solo run with a pure mage build. The final fight I beat on my 2nd try. This fight on the other hand took 6 tries before I beat it.

I started the fight from in behind the top level, fighting from the stone platform area. That way I could kill most of them 1 on 1 while the rest made their way over to me.
Alright thanks for the advice! its kind of our first run, we've had a blast but man this fight was like a brick wall =D fun though!

Had my rogue sneak up behind the voidwoken, my archer sneak up on top plaform opposite him, prince up on top platform far left and mage lower platform near ladder. Rogue started the fight with backstab and stun. Voidwoken dead during round two and focused on rest.

So beat this encounter some thoughts... massive difficulty spike with no real explanation as to why, didn't enjoy this part and yes i'm gonna say it.

This fight needs reworked, or enemies here made a bit weaker. As it stands right now even if you do every fight, every battle and get every bit of EXP chances are you'll still get murdered over and over by these guys.

Not a fan of this encounter at all.

I came back to this fight. You can come to this area from the top left, not just the pigs. I teleported to the top left of the ledge. If you have 2 telepoters, you can then stealth from there with all your charcters and set up behind the big bad.

this is the hardest fight of the whole first act. In my exp the casters are the most dangerous enemies, kill them first; key is not standing any longer than necessary on the path you entered, but to teleport eveyone of you party to the buildings on the left and right side for the height advantage;
at least two have to go left in order to take out the mage and the archer, the other two can teleport to the wooden stairs to the right, ignore the melees, they cant do anything, if you are standing high above them,
kill the casters and then the one archer out right, let the worm teleport forward and then focus your fire on him, he should die in 2 turns, finish of the melees last
everyboday of your party that keeps standing in the middle path between the two structures is going to die, so teleport right away to the buildings to the left and right

hairyscotsman. I didn't say it is the only way in, but for my tactics you have to come from the pigs.
