If you want to use summoning skills, you should know that they don't scale with intelligence, so if you're doing summoning only, every point invested into intelligence is a waste.
If you want to be a defensive ally, you should know that you don't need intelligence for Fortify spell (it scales with geomancer abiliity and level), neither do you need intelligence for Armour of frost (it scales with hydrosophist abillity and level).
If you're not going to be casting offensive spells, you would do yourself a favor and switch to something else than a wand, and if you're going to be using a bow, you should be aware, that your character might outdamage your boyfriend's character, so choose wisely.
If you want any tips on how to build an archer with supportive spells, I could give you some.
A very good support spells are Haste and Peace of Mind. (Both require pyrokinetic 1 to be very efficient).
I can see you're playing only two characters, so I would assume both have lone wolf talent. If that is right, you won't really be supporting your boyfriend for long, because the fights become absurdly easy since level 12+ so don't go overkill on geomancer or hydrosophist abillity, because he just would not really need it and you would do better if you actually helped him kill the enemies.
Summoning is very good early game, but in the late game, you have much better damage output much other builds. Your summon also becomes much better when you hit rank 10 on your summoning abillity. Still, he won't deal as much damage as you could by simply attacking your enemies with your bow.
You should not level up your huntsman abillity above level 5, because it simply isn't worth it. I would go as far as to say that if you don't want to use the Arrow storm skill, (a final skill in huntsman skill tree), you should not go above level 3 on huntsman.
If you want to boost your damage, don't put points into ranged abillity, make sure you have huntsman on the level you want it on first, and then pump points into warfare. There is a formula that calculates the damage output and ranged is additive damage, while warfare is multiplicative, so there is a considerable damage difference. Also you can use some of the warfare skills like enrage or phoenix dive (just another teleport for 1AP). The reason you should not go too high on huntsman is that warfare offers you the same damage output, but you don't need to have high ground anymore.
There is also one very important talent you should take, called far out man. It increases the range of your skills and scrolls. A very usefull talent if you also want to support.
Hothead is also very usefull if you're looking for a talent that will increase your damage output.
As a side note, runes are a very powerful thing in this game and definitely should not be ignored. They are not consumed when you attach them to your gear so you should always have a rune on your equipment when there is a rune slot available.
Does a wand increaase the power of same element spells? It never says that
