Stupid Question.... - how do i repair ? (repair skill to low)
Ok so as the title says,,,
yes i know its a stupid question considering this is D:OS2 and not the first one...

but...

my weapon just broke so i figured ok ill use one of my repair hammers to fix it,
upon doing so it popped up "repair skill to low"

which was a little odd considering almost all my partys civil skills have at least 5 in every skill...
so i thought
"ok.... maybe i've been forgetting to upgrade my blacksmith/repair skill without knowing it"

so i looked around for blacksmithing same as i do on D:OS1,,, but i couldn't find it.... or anything related to repairing...

so if someone could tell me which skill actually deals with weapon repairs now i'd be greatful
Cheers

I'd assume Loremaster is the skill needed to repair stuff. Otherwise you can go pester most Merchants to repair your crap (There is an icon in the bottom right on their side of the trade window for repairs).

In Act 1 you can easily find a trader in a tent in Fort Joy that'll repair your items.

In Act 2 in the main town the weapon merchant repairs weapons as well iirc.

Honestly though I'm like 100+ hours in and have yet to need to repair a single weapon. What are you doing, breaking down every door you find?

@ loremaster - not sure... guess 5 isn't high enough to repair the ice sword :<

@ the act - im still at fort joy.

@ the merchants - i built up a few hammers so i could deal with repairs myself xD

@ i've got a few mods that kick up the difficulity to keep a challange for the expended party mod,
tougher bosses, more enemies, 8 max ap, no psytic enemies (altho im not convinced this ones working), .... got a few others but i forgot which they was :<....

but that being said,,, playing on tactican mode with the difficulty tweaks has put most of th.....all of the enemies on steroids i love a challange ... but jesus XD

Anyways, cheers for the heads-up, guess ill slam fane or lo's points into loremaster, hopefully that'll help

In all my time in this game I never needed to repair a thing. By the time a weapon is broken I’d have found a better one to replace it

Yeah really, only two weapons I'm even vaguely aware of that could even need repairing are two specific weapons with the Brittle attribute which are unrepairable sadly :s

@hobo
well my ice sword i've enhanced it pretty heavly and with the crafting overhaul, i can upscale its level with mine, altho even at lv 2 its still managed to keep up with a lv 6 sword (base)

@drack
thankfully XD its not got that ♥♥♥♥ of a handicap xD

Either the repair feature was altered by a mod and most people aren’t going to know what you need to do, or something isn’t working right. However, weapons in this game only take damage when you attack things outside combat, like breaking doors or chests. Simply use a bow or wand or even targetable spells like throwing knife to damage them and you shouldn’t damage your weapons.

my ice sword broke when i was fighting the undead guarding withermores souljar,

only thing i can think of that changed the repairing,,, is crafting overhaul (shrugs),,,

only things i can think of that tweak the game settings are the
expended party, character creation plus (altho that just gives additional outfit looks),
overhauled crafting, the valkyrie class,,, mmmm think thats about it (shrugs)

on my skills tab
all i have is
crafting - 11 (which rises with the sub skills)
loremaster - 5
telekinesis - 5 (6 due to a buff)

Without a mod I'd doubt it otherwise a very particular sword would become extremely broken and OP.

fair does :<
o well, keeping with lore and role-playing.
makes sense to deal with, considering most ice swords in most games, tend to be powerful,, but fragile XD

(tibia's ice rapier, for example is the strongest sword in the game, but breaking instantly kinda sucks lol, almost only useful for when you went to get test hits to see what the highest damage you'll be able to do)
