Eternal Aetera
What the ♥♥♥♥ is this fight? How are you supposed to do this? I feel like I must be missing something. Wolves usually kill someone turn one. If Aetera doesn't do ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hailstorm and kill someone else, I cant do enough damage to CC anything. If you kill the wolves, she summons more. If you kill her, the wolves have already had a ton of time to chew on your ass and you die.
Anyone have any suggestions?

For those still having troubles with this fight currently on second playthrough thought on a fun way to one shot her and two dogs.
Step 1 Collect all barrels in cave
Step 2 Fix oil machine and fill all barrels
Step 3 Destroy wall whitout wasting oil barrels
Step 4 Start conversation with Eternal Aetera
Step 5 Using other chars place all oil barrels right next to her using pyramids for easy transport
Step 6 After placing about 30 barrels stay at max range and throw a fireball at her
Step 7 Eternal Aetera goes *POOF*
Step 8 Profit
I really like this game but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ are so many fights utter ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I cant even count how many fights ive run into that basically boiled down to more or less cheating or never having a chance.

What the ♥♥♥♥ were the developers thinking forcing players to use cheese tactics so often?

The game should be hard but doable by simply playing it. I shouldnt have to teleport witches that insta kill my entire party into demon hunters, or use 40 barrels to kill a mandatory fight when im properly geared and leveled for said fight.

Its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Learn how to play?

Because I never used any "cheese" tactics (aside to placement of my chars before combat start via stealth).

The Aetera fight is absolutely doable but it's quite deceiving in terms of level. I'd recommend leaving that fight for last, it doesn't trigger unless you touch the sarcophagus anyway.

You will be surprised while fighting a kid in (godwoken kid/man) Act 4, my character with the highest initiative (queue order) was overruled by the enemy and got stacked directly to the next round getting one round KO.

I got my ass kicked a couple of times, but I noticed the wolves have very low magical armor that she usually removes herself with one of her aoes, after that my scoundrel/huntsman shot three charming arrows with andrenaline. The wolves do a lot of damage, making me able to infinately knock down aetra with knockdown arrows. Worm tremor also halped making the three wolves unable to run back to attack me for three turns.

It's a tactical game. So-called cheese tactics are an option if a more head on approach fails.

I snuck into that cave at level 10. The first two encounters I beat normally. The third I used teleport to drop the White Magister into an ambush and then the free thralls rampaged below while I very precariously won.

Aetera however would have been unthinkable head on for me at level 11. And my oh my did I cheese this fight. One, just one, wolf could kill a character of mine.

I figured something was up so moved most of my party away when talking to her. She obliterated Ifan as I suspected. Then one by one I snuck up and teleported wolves away, even then usually losing a character each wolf before locking them down with spells (they have low magic armor).

Her two closer wolves I couldn't separate, and took a long time to take out and many deaths. From behind I snuck some oil barrels over by each wolf. I had a teleport chain ready and detonated with fire after which another character charmed a wolf. Then I ran like crazy, the wolf suiciding by attacking the others.

Even then considering she infinitely summoned two Wolves of Doom it was not easy to do. To win I got agro with one character from as far as possible, with two characters back by the stairs leading to the oil room and my fourth way up top in that room. Immediately I'd teleport that character back to run from the wolves.

At that point she was in range of the two archers up the stairs and I let loose, also pelting a summoned wolf with fire. After one round I ran for the oil room using Phoenix dive etc to outpace the wolves.

At that point my idle character up top came to play nether swapping the archer/mages with corpses then joining combat by charming a wolf, which if lucky ate through her armor.

Then I locked the second wolf with ice if I recall and used my melee characters to knock her down, desperately trying to keep her locked.

She got up summoned more wolves and killed two characters in one round before I delivered the killing blow.

The only point is with elaborate tactics I beat her at level 11. If that is possible there are plenty of options to win if not so underleveled.

Reading the other ideas in the topic was interesting.

If you don't kill the shrieker, you can teleport her halfway across the map while someone is talking to her and instakill her. All you have to do from there is just kill the wolves, which is fairly easy.

You're talking to her and you just hear the shrieker attacking her over and over again until she threatens you and starts the fight and gets instakilled seconds later Lol. Was some funny stuff when I did it, and It saved me a hard fight, so a win win situation

Creative use of your pyramids helps. Use the highest ini char get him adrenaline (rogue) and port out to the rest of the party at a safer distance. It will buy you lots of time to deal with her and her wolves.

Actually, you can just position yourself in the left/right side of the stairs. That way only 1 wolf can hit you. Place tanker in the front and teleport Aetera right in front of tanker so you can chain knockdown her. Dont forget to "heal" Aetera, she's undead.

A couple Love Grenades, Charm skill or Charm Arrows on the dogs make this fight trivial.

If you want to cheese minimally (I had to because even with clear minded I don't have enough initiative to go first, and after her full first round it's hopeless), teleport her into the middle of your party just before ending the dialog, and make sure someone with melee is next to her. That way at least for me she spends a couple AP running away (which also gets you to land a free hit on her physical armor as she goes), and doesn't have AP to cast the bloody combo, only the wolves. I didn't do any pre-buffing or anything like that, trying just to avoid the first turn of death and otherwise keep it honest :)
Then, charm 2-3 wolves (I used arrows and dominate mind), knockdown lock her. Charm does wonders, these wolves are real glass cannons so with explosions and attacks of opportunity they tear each other to shreds in no time. My tank ended up having to mop up two half dead wolves after she died.
