How many summons can you get at one time?
Is there a way to increase the number of summons you get? I can kinda understand not being able to summon an Incarnate if you already have one, but it seems weird that raising a Bloated Corpse with Necromany makes your Incarnate disappear. You can have more than one totem at the same time, so what's the deal with summons?

It's 1 summon you can control per char, while there doesn't seem to be a limit to totems.

1 summon per person just like in the first game.

Totems dont count as summons and I know you can have 4 of them maybe more.

Higher level incarnate can solo bosses and encounters (you don't even have to enter combat to buff it), it may not feel very fair or like it makes sense early in the game but it scales very very well

So is there any point to picking up, for example, the Bone Widow spell from necromancy, or should I just stick with the incarnate and use the skill slots for something else?

Some people prefer bone widow because of it's ridiculous health value and slightly bigger damage (but way worse versatility, mobility, and no CCs)

Anyway, bone widow is an amazing alternate summon in case your incarnate turns out to be bad for the situation (I.e you accidentally summon the wrong type).

All the other summons are garbage and should be treated like garbage

Wow, how dare you diss the amazing oil blob. Oil blob is very good for suicide bombings on fire surfaces

I've actually killed quite a few things by blowing up the bloated corpse, lol. Thanks for the info.

How about charm? Does a charmed target still occupy a different "slot" than your regular summon or will charming someone destroy my incarnet?
Drakilian Sep 19, 2017 @ 2:59pm
Charm target occupies a different slot.

Though unfortunately you can't directly control charmed targets so they still kindof suck. Also, charm costs 3 AP to cast, despite most charmable targets not being worth 3 AP to take control of (unless you get lucky and there's just something like a weaponized monk with no magic armour).
