How to repair, or is it just repair hammers?

Vendors have a repair option under their window tab once u engage a trade with them. :)

I know this is not your question, but I will say it anyway. Don't use weapons to destroy doors and chests. It is the only thing I have seen so far that wear out the weapons. Fire spells does that job for you if you don't have any lockpicks. But lockpicks are rather easy to craft at a low cost, so lockpicks should not be a problem really.

That said, I think only vendors have the repair skill. Not sure if all of them can, beacause I only needed to repair once in very early game when I had no lockpicks and no skeleton around. And then I repaired it myself.
