How to complete both Imprisoned Elf and Red Prince origin quest? *spoilers?*
I don't know if this questline is bugged or what, but these quests seem to be mutually exclusive. With the Red Prince as your origin character, you are given the option of having Stingtail give you the Drudanae filled orange, or using it to do his dreams and complete the Red Prince's quest. If you take the orange, and return to Griff, he refuses to complete the quest unless you give him the drugs, even if you had removed them from the oranges. Refuse and the whole camp turns hostile.

If you give him back his Drudanae he releases the elf, completing that quest. Return to Stingtail and he's being assaulted by an assassin, who you can easily defeat. But now there doesn't seem to be any way of completing the Red Prince questline. You can buy drudanae from Griff (it's overpriced), but Stingtail refuses to acknowledge it in your inventory if you talk to him. So what the heck. Is this bugged or what.

Is your main character Red Prince? Because if he isn't there is odd exploit/workaround that always works for me. Get the Imprisoned Elf quest and recruit Red Prince. The moment you go to Stingtail after recruiting Red Prince he will ask that you let him talk to Stingtail. Allow him to do so and he will dream with Stingtail. Then talk to Stingtail with your main character afterwords and badger him about the stolen items from Griff and convince him to give you the Drudnae filled orange. Then you can give it to Griff and free Amyro and then either let Silence kill Stingtail or not.

For some reason the NPC Red Prince doesn't make Stingtail consume that use of Drudnae so it allows you to finish both, while using Red Prince as your main character doesn't. This allows you to progress Red Prince's story and finish the Imprisoned Elf for one of the many ways out of Fort Joy.

Or, you can save Amyro, leave the Joy, and find Drudnae out in the marshes and give it to Stingtail to progress Red Prince's story that way. Just make sure you save Stingtail from Silence so he doesn't actually get assassinated for stealing the drudnae filled orange from Griff.

"Is your main character Red Prince?"

Yes. You have to go through the entire conversation with him, and you have to choose whether to use the drugs in the orange or to take the orange back.

I found a drudanae in the swamp, went back to him, and he still says that there's no drudanae. The hell.

I figured it out!

My main character is Red Prince and I have Sebille in my party.

-First step is to split the Red Prince and Sebille up so they are not linked together.
-Have the Red Prince talk to Stingtail and let him use the drudanae orange for the Dream.
-Reconnect Sebille to the party
-Use Red Prince talk to Stingtail again.
-Let Sebille 'talk' to Stingtail
-Loot Stingtail and collect the Orange, still containing the Drudanae.

=EDIT=
NVM, the orange looked like it still had the drudanae but it doesnt :(

As Red Prince:

Smoke the drugs.
Pick-pocket the orange.
Give to Griff.
Massacre the entire gang.
Free the elf.
Take Sebille to pay respects to Stingfail.

That works, but it's a bit brutal.

Yeah, looking for a solution that doesn't make the primary shopkeepers of the beginning hostile...

you only lose the huntsman and scoundrel shopkeepers, given how easy it is to get to the second set of shopkeepers thats never posed a problem for me, especially as i will have bought all the skillbooks i really needed earlier. plus they give experience which is strictly limmited so personally i would come back and kill them all anyway
if griff and his bastards attack you this doesnt effect the other shop keepers, as long as griff is the one that attacks you, so even if the orange is empty, i believe you can just ignore it and griff will get pissed and attack you. Kill him, kill his friends, and then free the elf from the cell, and go on about your business....

Griff is a douchebag anyway...

You can chat Butter up, and she fights on your side v Griff.

*SPOILER ALERT AHEAD* Later on you can find another dreamer, Stingtail can just die. I am the Red Prince and a friend picked up Sebille, he let her kill Stingtail before I could talk to him. Here is your real spoiler and work around for people who don't want to go crazy, *SPOILER* at the seeker camp the lizard guard you meet is also a dreamer. She can take you in the dream without cost, as she is loyal to the Prince and his journey. *SPOILER OVER* Don't kill yourself over small mistakes guys, divinity is fun just messing up and learning. You can always play it again. It's a decent enough game for a second play through, the first was.

Yeah I know the quest continues, but you lose the dream scene with Stingtail, and I don't know if that changes anything later.

Playing as the Red Prince you talk Stingtail into giving you the oranges. Take them back to Griff and save Stingtail from the assassin. Have your Rogue or Shadowblade pickpocket the orange from Griff and return to Stingtail to do the dream sequence. Both quests completed.

You can also take Red Prince to Stingtail, talk without Sebille in the party to Stingtail to get the orange, give the orange to Griff and avoid confrontation by giving Stingtail away, then run to Stingtail to defend him from Griff s assassin, THEN bring Sebille to "talk" to him.
