what does the pheonix egg do?

I found a 'Skull Sentinel' on top of a Skull Pile in the Dungeon under Ryker's mansion. The only way to interact with it is to right click -> combine with... When you hover over it in the crafting menu, it's description is Phoenix Egg. Naturally I tried the Egg, but got nothing. I also have a Very Silent Watcher's Leather Shirt Chest Armour, which has the description Phoenix Egg. Don't remember where I got the armour.

Tried a combination of all 3, still nothing... Some kind of hidden meaning or I'm missing something..

Or a mistake copypasting item descriptions. Just like you will later find Uniques whose description is "Unknown". I think you are overanalyzing.

the skull sentinel is used by the guy in the mansion above it when you sneak in through the cellar. I don't think it's supposed to be a crafting station or related to a phoenix,

I have a suggestion about the egg. The ashen idol of rebirth you can find on the body of the spider woman in the Undertavern says "fear not death while flame burns in my heart". My idea is that you can recharge the idol with the phoenix egg. I cannot test it though, since I don't have the egg.

Eh, you recharge it with a resurrection scroll and it auto-resurrects the person if they die.

I think you either eat the egg for the skill, or sell it. There doesn't seem to be another option, at least not that we've found. We also hoped for a summon, but no go :(

As for the Phoenix Egg description on various things, I suspect that is a bug because there are TONS of things that have that in their description and they can't all apply to the situation, there are just too many.

You're right. I confused the phoenix egg with another egg.

I was curious aboutt he same, and did come across a Pheonix Heart. Makes me wonder if there's a few more... parts.
