Unstable Talent Mechanics and Interactions (Current as of 21 Sep 2017)
Quick notes:

Unstable: explode for 50% of maximum vitality as physical damage.

Comeback-kid does not work with Unstable, for Unstable to proc you have to actually die.

Death wish does increase the damage of Unstable.

Pain link does transfer Unstable damage, if you have another character in the range of the player character that blew up and that character Painlinked something and that linked target also in range of the Unstable explosion they will take double damage.

On a side note things can not be affected by multiple Pain links, if you try to Painlink a caster of Painlink or a target of Painlink it replaces both.

Explanation and thoughts:

First off minor spoilers below and lots of math, you have been warned.

There is an item called golden idol of rebirth, it is the most OP item in the game and probably bugged right now because of what you can do with it. First off I am not going to tell you how to get it you can find out about it yourself, secondly it IS possible for every character in you're party to have one.
This item at first glance seems bad because when it is used it consumes the item gives you an ashen idol of rebirth. The thing is, you can remake it into the golden idol by combining the ashen idol and a resurrection scroll, that's it you can do this infinitely. The other thing about the idol is when it revives you, you get 100% of your HP effectively giving you a talent for free. Now for the part that makes it super buggy, or at the very least op, you can remake the idol in combat for free, yes that's right for free. All you have to do is open up your crafting menu on the person that just died turn and look in recipes and make it, boom now when you die you will revive again and it didn't cost AP, just the resurrection scroll. I don't think I need to say why this is super op with unstable, you get to die blow up and instantly revive with full hp so you can remake the idol and do it again.

Now for some math: this will be an explanation of how you can six times the damage of the explosion of unstable, that's right 300% of vitality as physical. First off you need four things, two characters that are tanks and have unstable, both characters having pain link and death wish, and a lot of resurrection scrolls.
Now what you want to do is nuke the armor of the mob, I recommend using two-handed weapons on both characters. Then once the armor is nuked have one character preferably the one with lowest hp cast painlink on the target. Then make sure both of you're Living (or undead) bombs have death wish on them. Then stack them close to the mob and to each other so everything gets hit by the explosion, Finally kill the one who DIDN'T cast pain link, I usually do this by drinking a super strong poison potion.

This is how it works, the one drinks the poison and dies, blows up hitting the mob and her ally for 100% of her vitality as physical damage because deathwish gives us 100% more damage, so the mob takes 100% from the explosion and then another 100% from the pain link and then the one who cast pain link dies and blows up for 100% of their vitality. Most of the time, if done correctly you will instantly kill the mob you targeted.

I just respecced one of my level 15's and ended up with 13k vitality and unstable only did 333 damage to the bridge troll, kinda underwhelming.

I don't see how it can work: my human tank has, at lv 15, 1100hp and nearly 900 magic armour. For testing porpouse I lowered his poison resistance to 0%. If i drink a Giant Poison Bottle (the tooltip says that it should do around 900 poison damage) I have only 450 damage on my magic armor. If i use the Five Star Diner talent nothing changes (still only 450 damage to my magic armor).
How con gli exactly kill yourself so easily?
