Fane won't join my party anymore
After I left the island of Fort Joy (with Fane, Sebille and the Red Prince) I ran around the ship to get my companions with me again. Problem is Fane saying "I'm waiting to meet a brave, beutiful, higly skilled adventurer", and I don't know what he means. His attitude is 45 and he has a lot of gear that I can't get back without killing him (which I really don't wanna do).

Has anyone encountered the same problem? I don't want to progress much further without him if that is possible.

Hey found a solution. Pump your persuasion. Just go to the mirror. I put 3 into it to get Fane back. He was at -3 attitude.

Where does one check the attitude of their party members?

Examine them (using the right click). It's a little buried--about a third of the way down or so?

Found it. Thanks!

I’m in the same situation. built him up in for the entirety of act 1 as my ranger only to refuse to join in act 2. Turns out I’m at -14 attitude regardless of the fact that I was “lawfully good” at all or most dialogue encounters. Not sure if it was just accidental healing or just him walking into random elements but this is really frustrating. I’m ready to give up and move on to another companion (looking back on it he WAS kind of an obnoxious prick ;p)
If there’s any solution to this I would really appreciate it.

I personally went back to a save before the ship fight and played it again like I did the first time, and now he's happy to join my party. I have no clue as to why it happened, but it seems like it fixed it self.

It’s kind of a process but I found this works:

“-If your companion leaves at the end of Act 1 on the boat at -1 attitude, there's a way to keep them in your party until you can raise it into positive.

Open up a second instance of the game by using the .exe in the /bin folder. Load your single player campaign in one instance, and enable direct connections from the menu. In the second instance, do a direct connection into the first.

Now, in the first instance, assign the second instance to control the Companion. Now when you get on the Lady Vengeance, the companion won't be taken out of your party. You'll have to keep the multiplayer connection open until you find a chance to raise attitude again, but this seems to work.”

Notes: after I kick out player 2, fane managed to stick around. Hope this helps. ^ -^

Well, there's your problem right there. Fane may be a bro, but you're on the wrong side of at least one axis.
