Alexander Fight Seemingly Impossible for My Group!
Been at this fight for several hours now and as soon as the worm shows up i get obliterated in a couple turns.

Level 7 group with 300+ hp and im just dying too fast with him out. Then of course there is getting 1 shot by Alexander.

most people seem to suggest that you should run away when the worm shows up and let the worm and the other guys duke it out. havnt needed to yet, but my single sebille run might be hard in that fight haha. so get off behind walls etc and try to get into stealth mode or some such, the worm tends to aggro the alexander goons pretty easily tho. :)

hm, also.. would it be possible to, in theory, keep some of the shriekers around and lure the worm to them? :).. i have to try lol.

Start the fight on high ground and try to keep the magisters away from you. When the worm shows up, all magisters will forget about you and focus on the worm instead. Use this chance to kill the rogue magister and Alexander ASAP.

In my game, I was level 8 and I butchered most of them while the worm was still alive. When you are down to just a couple of magisters, then help them out with the worm.

Baah the game cheats. Shriekers dont attack Alexander

Btw: has anyone tried to cheat alexander with the face ripper? You can steal identities. But i'm not really sure what would happen.

Few of the fights in game were impossible for me on tactician. What i do is pick off targets one by one then flee combat. Worked on witch, void thingy with undead and alexander too.

On Alexander i killed gheist first, then worm showed up and instantly killed 3 of my party members with burrow. I used ifan's retreat and let worm kill 2 more magisters, rezzed my party and killed alexander next quickly, retreated with party and finished off last 2 magisters.

It is very easy to flee combat as long as you just move away 3 action points worth of distance (15 metres).

This fight isn't so bad if you have a tank, I put into nearly max leadership and hardly took as much dmg as my first play through

sorry about your stugles. Don't know if this will help but my friend and I used a bunch of buffs with a op crossbow we found and in one turn managed to kill him before the end of our turn and we where at the top of the stairs so once the worm spawned we just went into sneak mode until most of the nemies where dead. lol

Oh wow i think i just learned trick.

I pulled my party way back up on the stairs and teleported the Gheist far from his group. Killed him and the combat ended all on its own, no worm no need to retreat lol

I've had great success on classic with a lv8 party that was moderately geared; i.e. no pickpocketing 50k gold and buying all epic BIS gear, but no lv1 commons in any slots.

What you should do is rather than go straight or to the right of the little harbor you go left. There's a ledge where you can teleport up to where the shapeshifter doesn't have LOS to but you can see her from an angle for later.

Teleport everyone up. You need 2 people that know teleport or 1 person with teleport(e.g. the gloves from the crocolisks.) and someone with a teleport scroll.

First off, UNCHAIN YOUR PARTY! Else they run off and trigger the fight prematurely.

1:
Now teleport everyone to the ledge on the left side of the little harbor ruin. Just stay out of LOS of everyone for now.

2: Once everyone is teleported up, place everyone behind and to the side of the little archway and give your teleporter LOS to the shapeshifter. Teleport her into your welcoming arms.

3: The fight has officially started, but because your units are all behind the door and thus out of LoS everyone has to climb up the ladder and walk through that little archway. The hallway they're all in will be an ideal AoE killing ground.

4: After a few turns the worm will spawn near alexander, who you hopefully kept knocked down or at least not directly in your face. The worm will likely attack alexander's little clustered group of AoE'd minions and thus take aggro from you.

5: Have fun spamming AoE abilities into the little hallway until everyone is dead.

If you win the fight there is so much good loot :steammocking:. Was relatively easy with Summoner+Enchanter+Paladin and w/e my coop partner picked for his dwarf (he can petrify and stuff). Having the "if revived you are back to full HP" trait helps. (we did not "cheese" anything, just went in and fought, no positioning on high ground or such stuff).

I was doing something similar to this but when i did it the worm would spawn right there and ignore Alexander.
