This has the Best Modding Toolset Ever Made.
Now, I haven't gotten to D:OS2 itself. I'm talking just about the Game Master Mode. So well done. The superb design and simplicity of the controls, coupled with the inexhaustible list of amazing features and presets.. just wow. It is so good, it literally invalidates just about every other mod toolset, for any other game, completely. Finally we have what Neverwinter only partially delivered, the closest toolset yet to blurring the wall between table top and computer.

Truly marvelous. Easily worth the price of a game on it's own. The fact that it was a kickstarter bonus is simply unbelievable. The GM mode alone impresses me more than any game has in the past couple of years.

I bought 2 copies, and having played D:OS, and seeing the craftsmanship of the GM mode, I am
sure I will enjoy it.

The GM mode I'm sure is a big part of why a lot of people got interested in this series if they hadn't played the games before. I've yet to complete the game but I'm looking forward to trying out GM mode.

For sure. I am a DM myself, and this is the most significant toolset I've ever seen. My mind is blown by how well done it is.

Truly a grand gift worthy of being a standalone product.

While i agree that it is great as it is.

It could use a little bit more features such as being able to place objects INSIDE other objects (doors halfway into broken walls etc)

I imagine this can be fixed with a small patch or mod. But as of now it is kind of annoying how limited the space is for objects in small places.

And another thing they should as is ZERO restrictions for stats for ANY object. If i want a certain herb to give you healing buffs etc then i should be able to add it even if that herb isnt supposed to do that normally.

I understand its not as simple to implement as i might make it seem like im saying but i think this will vastly improve GM mode.

P.,S. I REALLY wish they had a map editor like Far Cry: Predator Instincts on xbox/ xbox 360. That would be a dream come true for GM mode creation.

I thought they said you could create items that didn't exist, even skills.

The best mod tools ever made were part of the game itself = Tribes (~1999).

You could actually edit maps, add turrets, shape terrain, and even change scripts - WHILE other people were playing.

Imagine the nightmare today; design tools where players can change everything in a game while other people are playing. There can't be any downloading or reloading. Tribes did that in 1999.

I remember fondly, picking up turrets while editing a map 20+ people were playing on, and chasing people with those (normally) static turrets.

Well you sort of can. You just need to use your imagination and then set the status of the skil you created on the thing that it was casted on. Or just SAY that it had an effect and pretend that the monster has the effect and control it accordingly.

But as for it being in the game itself then yeah its not implemented.

What can you currently do with items? For example you select a sword, then what? You just change its level, and stats, and the values are placed automatically? Can you place random stats to be decided when the party finds the item?

I would like to know if i play with som friends and one of is the DM/GM. Do we need to roll an new char everytime or can we keep playing the same char in another game? If we can keep playing same char, can i use that char to play with randoms online?

You kindo f can. You can just have to have the GM set your stats the same as your previoius character..

Can you save GM though? And the players can take control of anyone in the party, like the standard mode.

Can you also swap GM after you load the game?

GM mode is not Toolset. Don't confuse people. DOS2 toolset is called The Divinity Engine 2 and it can be downloaded under "Tools" in Steam separately.

Well, I understand what you mean, and yes technically correct, but from a Game Master standpoint, it's a toolset for Game Mastering. I am sort of hybridizing the game master mode and what I know of the more technical mod capabilities. Together, I think this platform is going to revolutionize modding. I predict a long life for this game.
