Swornbreaker Scythe

I've had the schematic for quite some time now, do you come across the pieces in the driftwood world map or later in the story?
Would really like to wield that bad boy.

You aquire them on the Nameless Isle, chapter after Driftwood. The haft is found in the Black Ring base, to access it you have to bring Alexander's head to the barren altar and kill the Sallow Man, you'll find the haft in a chest in his quarters. The blade is found in the School of the Seven, there's a dining area to the right of the main enterance, there's a side door that leads to a portal. Go through the portal and defeat the big sentinel, he'll drop the blade.

The scythe is pretty much useless unless you have Amira on your ship, she has a quest linked to it. Could have answered your question in a shorter answer but this saves you a couple hours of searching if you're intent on forging Swornbreaker.

I am in the Academy however I can't find a way to open the door that leads to the portal. It's locked tight. Any tips?

Near as I can tell, no. You need his head to open up the Cavern lair. I originally uh, ate Alexanders head to gain the knowledge to enter the lunar gate, had to load a save 4 hours previous to rectify my mistake.

If I recall correctly (I'm probably not) there's a key on one of the corpses in the Academy that may open it. Haven't tried it myself; I had a maxed out Thievery at the time and picked the lock before I tried the key. Hope it works for you.

Use the spell from the hood Alexander gives you to open the door in a cave.

Is her quest required? Or can I skip reloading a save if I accidentally killed her?

Honestly... you get the swornbreaker (full item) at the end of the nameless isle or in the next act. The item is extremely underpowered. It was like 1/2 the damage of the item my knight had at that point.

The crafted version will match your current level thus will have its stats more up to date then the given one.

you can cut a deal with alexander and he gives u a head piece that can see thru the troll cave illusion so u dont hvae to kill alex if u dont want to.;.im just gonna kill em all since they are all jackasses
