Yes, use poison to heal them.

The necromancy passive doesn't seem to work.
At least it didn't replenish my magic armor while my vitality was still full.
Good to know, that it works with poison though

I was unable to see the effect with poison either ...

I can personally verify that living armor does not work with Fane and the use of poison.

Yup Fane and poison, no procs for living armour , doesn't work, can confirm.

stolen from another link, what works with living armour is:

the hydrosophist healing spells do work
healing potions do work
walking over blessed fire surface even works!!

It's old, but i've tested now and it works.
Living armor heals with poison
