if i use the whistle nothing will happen and neither i can talk to the damn owl
anyone an idea?
The paladin one is just a special effect visual when you use the owl at the right time. Not an actual critter. For me the whistle was usable after I fully explored the black pits area and found out everything the magisters were up to. That included the white magisters in the cave, and the pair about to execute the Black Ring prisoners. (had to read some materials in those locations as well)
I killed those two high ranking magisters in the black pits. An owl will get the message and bring it to the paladins.
Hm, maybe you are right. I tried to use the whisle, but it does not work for me too. But how to solve the issue with the owl that is now doomed to fight the Hannag's apprentice for an eternity, so there's no way to speak to him? :D
About the Hannag's apprentice, can't you teleport the owl out of combat? Maybe you can use multiple people (scrolls) to get the owl far away?
Nah, unfortunately, It keeps returning to the gallows( The only thing that I'm concerned about in this case, will it break the quest with the Paladin's Owl entirely and will it affect the game overall? Right now my lvl is too low to fight those two white magisters in the Blackpit's docks, so I can't check the theory that the owl will dissappear if I manage to kill them and use the whistle.
Update: I managed to kill the magister and silent watchers ( the other magister fleed the battle on the ship ) and used the whistle. The war owl sent my letter and then I've returned to the Gallows. Gwydian Rince is dead and the owl walks near his body. I got no idea on how it will affect the questline, since I've already completed the quest by speaking with Hannag, before Gwydian died. I guess there's no way to revert the result of that bug :\
Update 2: I talked to the owl and it appears to be the spirit of Jonathan, which betrayed Gareth (?????). None of the party members can speak to the owl, excluding the main character. I still am no sure if this is a very strange bug or an even more strange part of the story (???). I mean....and owl? An invincible owl? This is really weird and looks more like a bug than a part of the storyline, imo. %)
That thing is worth trying) Sadly, I've already skipped this whole mess and moved on.
After that it seemed to stay out of the oil and such and just sat around on the outliers of battle. if i thought it was getting to close to the fire i would teleport it to the edge again after the fight was over i was able to talk to it. hopefully this helps you out.
You have to delve deeper into this location. There is a house near the water, where you can find a bunch of silenced monks and two white magisters torturing Black Ring followers. After interruption of their rite and finishing the fight you can use the whistle to summon the war owl.
