Fane's Mask (Possibly a Spoiler)

Hello Guys.

So I'm playing as fane, and you have to kill that Kniles in order to get a faceripper. But what is the point of getting one if you can kill wendigo at the beach and get your mask back? It seens like a total mistake on the continuity of the game... or I'm missing something ?

I just came to this part myself and was wondering the same thing. I have Fane as a companion and I didn't have any source stones to use with the faceripper so I'm assuming that it may be for those that did find some?

oddly enough when i killed knives and used his faceripper on him i had no source...and it worked anyways...even gave me the achievement

you dont need to kill anyone just talk to knives while having the leg of the lizard that dalis kills at fort joy
still i wonder how the story plays with diffrent choices , anyone knows if killing wendigo affects v
by the way there is a 2nd face ripper in knives room in 2 floor in his mom tavern in driftwood

if you have fane in your party and he is using the mask and if you have another undead player character or maybe your friend is also a undead in co op you would want to be able to make muiltple masks also not sure if this is true but fane says the face determins what you will look like so maybe you can change the model you morph into with different faces.

i know you can. i was talking about change the model that the mask morphs you when you disguise as a different race

Okay you can change how your character looks in the mirror on the ship when you respec but you can't change your race but thats not what im talking about. what i'm talking about is when your undead you need the mask of the shapeshifter so talk to people with out them freaking out it allows you to morph and pretend to be another race and you can make mulitple with the face ripper where you use it on a corpse to take their face to make a new mask and disguise your self so what i saying is you might be able to pick a npc you like rip off its face and disguise as them im not talking about the mirror at all.

Shade169 Yeah I used it on him and took his face too but I couldhn't make it into a mask without source.

but whaT about changing the masks races aperance in the mirror ? that what i was saying. Do you get the person you kill aperance ?

so far i only have found source orbs at mercants after ship part in story

You don't need the faceripper ever to make the mask, evne as a custom undead. Just murder that bltch Wendigo and take it off of her after you escaped.

I'm starting to wonder if that witch can somehow be recruited as a secret companion.
Probably not but, lesser games have had bigger secrets...

Probably not but, lesser games have had bigger secrets...

Maybe, but seeing as how fanatical she is I doubt it. Maybe later on in the game if you decide not to murderize her but I honestly can't be bothered to find out.
