Tips for clearing early game
The early game in fort joy is stopping alot of people from enjoying the game to curb this i wanna collect some good tips for getting through this area, with good tactics you can clear this area easy and once you leave fort joy the game opens wide open.

Some spoilers ahead maybe for early game quest as I wanna give a suggestion as to what order to do quest to gain early exp.

There are a few non-combat quest in fort joy that net you good exp.

be sure to talk to everyone and go everywhere there is a lot of exp in just walking around and exploring.

Someone will approach you in town regarding an escape plan involing a pair of glove always follow thru this questline as it gives you access to so many things in the game that you otherwise wouldn't be able to do and yields one of the best defensive tools in the game.

Don't try to fight griff unless your lvl 4 maybe 3 if you have gotten some good gear.

Have at least one character invest in bartering and one into lucky find this will yield tons of free items and good, search every object that can be opened and hold down Left Alt after everything and when in crowded area to see what is lootable.

Don't fight the crocodiles until you have both magic and physical armor on at least your for at least your frontline.

The fire slugs are easier if you fight them while standing the small body of water that nearby as you will never stay burning for more than 1 turn and you get fire resist from being wet.

Always rat out stingtail griff will send and assassin to kill him you can fight and kill the assassin for more exp.

You can make a lot of easy money from stealing from vendors, stealing skill book you can use is great as they disappear on use and when you are searched you wont have it. For stealing other items just quickly send it to someone who isn't nearby and resale it.

Not all skills are equal skill like fortiy and frost armor and first aid should be included in every party all these skills are very very useful all game busy the ability to remove status effects is super powerful and any skill that can grant magic and or physical armor is awesome.

The base healing skill restoration will also remove burning.

Melee characters should start off either with haste from the pyro tree, bull rush from the poloymorph, or the charge skill from warfare all these make decent gap closers to help melee characters get to targets.

In early game even if you take all dealing skills you don't do much damage so prioritize ulitiy and crowd control let most your damage come from either basic attack or staff of Magnus.

Use oil if someone is standing Inside of oil they will be slowed even if they still have there armor. Slowed people can take less actions on there turn.

Work in progress...

You can find a doctor near the back of fort joy with a almost dead patient helping out yields some easy exp and a item that can make another sidequest very easy should take this earlier as it's non combat.

Mild spoier:

After killing the croc's there's a broken bridge near where you started on the beach... make sure you explore it thoroughly, best 1h weapon early game can be found off the beaten path.

Having a shovel even before entering fort joy can prove useful there 2 dig spot that you can find on the road just off the left of the front gate of the fort 1 has a pretty good bow in it the other has a zombie fight.

Note lizards can dig without a shovel

Mages should spread early skill points on multiple classes to get access to each classes high utility base abilities, I usally invest heavliy in 1 or 2 magic schools while putting at least 1 point in 2 more.
