You can and with pretty much any build. Just pick up the lone wolf talent. Summoner is a decent start for soloing

summoner with healing? Been told that having healing skills is necessary, but that's within the context of a party of 4. Should Lone Wolves pick up healing as well then?

I play undead so I use poison for healing and damage. But yes you will likely need a healing spell unless you want to keep buying every health potion you find

I'm wondering if a Paladin type character would be good to solo with.

I have a friend that tried going through with a heavy armor melee based class with some magic classes ( can't remember which one's sorry!) But he had a serious problem with getting enough damage out that way, it probably is viable if you work at it but that's just what he told me. I suggested wayfarer to him and he's been having a much better time

In theory, Undead Geo Summoner would probably be amazing. Not only do you have an extra body tanking hits, and totems doing supplemental damage, but you can also heal yourself with poison.

I've done solo before on a character with no weapons, albeit it was the Early Access version, so Lone Wolf wasn't a thing yet.

He was a 'monk' archetype. This means he had spells that would stun his enemy in touch range, blind them, and extremely high wits. I would always go first in a fight, and in some, go twice before my opponent got a chance to react. Being that I had no weapon equipped, fights were long and difficult, but being a human (or a lizard) means your unarmed attacks hit twice, meaning you have two chances to critically hit.
Getting the teleport glove is crucial, as otherwise it would be impossible to single out enemies.

Yeah plus the slow from fossil strike keeps enemies at bay

It's possible with the lone wolf talent, but I would suggest a party of two is more fun and still pretty danged tough. If you're determined to solo it though, these are things you will pretty much have to keep in mind:

You will need:
-Start with the lone wolf Talent, and get Pet Pal ASAP, you can't afford to pass up the XP.
-Necromancy, Summoning, and Hydro at 5, but you will probably want warfare for knockdowns as well
-Go shield+Wand.
-Int will be your primary stat, but you will also need Str/Con for shields/heavy armor.
-Thievery for your civil, steal everything that isn't nailed down.
-STRONGLY CONSIDER Fane/Undead.
-Don't Play on tactician difficulty.

Does my Character get more out opf lone wolf if he is solo or is it the same as if it were two? Meaning: Any benefits over playing just 1 character?

Sorry, don't understand the description that good tbh D:

I recently started a single character Lone Wolf elven Huntsman on tactician, it isn't that hard at all. Putting points into necromancy is a great way to heal if you do decent amount of damage, especially it seems like that kind of passive healing isn't negated by cursed blood surfaces.

One huge mistake I made is not investing 2 points into Poly for the extra movement.

Lone wolf buff decreases with each member you have so being by yourself gives you the biggest buff

Interesting, how did you handle the long cooldown on TP gloves? Or did you mean that you TPed enemies towards you to single them out?

Take Fane go Rogue. Lonewolf+executioner for talents. Thieving for civil, steal everything to always keep all equipment(especially weapons)at top notch level. Get 1 level of polymorph for invinsibility.
Between starting with backlash and launching 2 attacks(3 with adrenaline) you can easily kill one non boss character in one round. After you do this, get invinsible, go to some area enemies can't see you and sneak/flee combat while waiting for CDs to recharge. Rinse repeat. It gets way WAY more brutal once you unlock Fane's innate ability that gives him another whole round for the cost of just 2 AP and 1 SP

completely false. You get the same bonus if you're solo, or if you are with one partner, any more than that will negate the talent entirely.
