Race important for Class?
Hi!
On the Wiki page for Elves it says in their description

"As a result of their lean builds and swift movement, elves generally benefit from classes that focus on finesse."

Is this only rollplay wise or are there differences in class/race combos?

While creating a character, there arent any differences in statweight.

Thx for help!

Every race has an edge. Humans have more wit so have better initiative and crit more. Elves have more finness so do well with weapons of that type. Dwarves have con. Lizards get int. Each race has +2 in its favored stat. The long run two points wont ruin you but min maxers will want a particular race depending on what they want.

There are no roleplayed differences except when a gm uses a stat in a dice roll. Sorry, i misread you

Where? I checked the creation tool and i couldnt find anything like that. Elven Ranger and Human Ranger start both with 10-12-10-10-10-11 in stats

They are the old racial skills. Now human still get the wit bonus, elves get +1 to loremaster and lizards get 10% fire/poison resistance. They changed most of the racial bonuses to make every race be able to be everything rather then forcing you to play a lizard to be a mage. Look on the character creation page for the new racial bonuses. The wiki hasn't been updated yet since launch changed a bunch of things.
In the pre-Release, races use to get race bonuses such as Lizards getting more intellect, Elves getting more Finesse.

This was removed because they felt it forced players to be specific classes for the specific race. So Elves getting more Finesse made it seem like you HAD to play Elf as a Rogue ect due to the bonuses. They removed it so that it didn't feel that way.

The only difference is starting skills. Dwarves get a sneak +1 which of course is gold if you want to make a rogue type, not so much for pure warrior. Elves get +1 loremaster which is wasted if you don't do something with it. etc etc. Although the difference is minor and can be ignored.
