How do you open locked door in Fort Joy dungeon?

I have several quests that seem to need me to be able to get through this door but I can't find anything on how to unlock it...

down the hall at the end are 4 guys...the key to that door is lying on the floor in that room

For teh record, you CAN get that key without getting int the fight. I was able to with 2 Telekenisis. Not sure if you need 2, or if 1 would work, but I had 2.

I had already killed those 4 guys but don't recall seeing any key, I'll go back there and look though

thanks that was it, in my case it was sitting atop a stool in that room

Use Left-Alt key to make item names pop up that are on the ground, good if you want to hunt for ingredients too.

You can also just sneak past, grab the key and piss off :D at least on Classic

I grabbed "Prison Key" off the floor of the room, but it still did not open the dungeon door. Am I missing something? I'd pick it, but my chars don't have enough Thievery.

I don't know why the key from the Houndmaster room is not working. Although I've always killed the Houndmaster group before entering through the door, because I learned you need to kill him to proceed. Plus he is torturing another Magister.

for me the stool was destroyed and completly covered the key XD i had to look everywhere
