How does plugging in a controller allow me to create a second character?
So you're saying there is no way to create 2 characters on a single computer?
Just open a multiplayer game, set it for two players. Alt + Tab out of the game, open the game directory ("steam/steamapps/common/divinity original sin 2" normally)and open a second game instance using the EoCApp.Exe in the bin foulder. Using this instance join your multiplayer game, create your two characters and start. When you finished loading and you´re in the prologue, just close you second game. This will make the second charater controllable for your first game. Now you can just play and save/load as usual.
Edit: Seems like Mullgyver was faster than me...
