So about Lone Wolf...
Yes, I did search, I know there is a million threads about it already and yet, after all that reading I still can't figure how the hell it works.
The talent description says it will have effects as long as I have two characters at most in my party.
Now I'm playing with a friend, but we're in two different parties. We each have one companion. Does it mean that *every single one of our four characters* can have Lone Wolf bonus as long as we stay separated into two parties ?
I know this talent was certainly not meant to be used like that, but this is what is implied by the talent description and some forum threads.

Does the talent activate when you do that? (play 2+2?)
In my idea, it shouldn't.

The point of the talent is that you can have two lone wolves in the game (like you and your friend), but can't take anyone else into the party.

That makes your individual characters much stronger but you lose on extra party members.

They have reworked the talent from the first game so that you can still hire party members, but you just lose the benefits (the talent "deactivates) as soon as you hire 3rd character

Your party consists of all the characters you see on the left hand side of the screen. Doesn't matter if you're not physically together. If you see four portraits, you have four party members. Lone Wolf means that you can have one less party member, so two people with Lone Wolf means that you can't have any other party members besides you and your friend. This includes NPC party members as well as third and fourth human players.

no worries you can all 4 take lone wolf. its intended that u then become as strong as 8 people. have fun.

Just think logically..if you could split your party into 2 groups of 2 and still keep lone wolf...it would be horrifically overpowered and become mandatory to build because it's so good in multiplayer...so it's very unlikely that is the case.

Stop with the sarcasm please, I even said in my original post I was fully aware that it wasn't intended to work that way.
But it may be an oversight of the devs. Just look at this thread:
