Ok I managed to douse the flames but now he's to weak and is still histerical. I dont have the slightest idea what to do to help this guy. can someone help me? I dont mind spoilers.

Same problem. I tried everything I could think of and spent way too much time looking for an actual answer in the game, but eventually I had to give up and look online. So now I know. I can't get any further through the maze. I have no blood, nor any way of getting any. I guess I'm mostly just posting to vent, but this is seriously ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. There could at least have been a puddle in the room, if only to give you a bloody hint.

If anyone's looking for suggestions, there is always the option of one or two of the random body parts lying around the island. Munching on those will give you a blood pool.

Or you can just hit yourself...

In 1, they had a "Put different items on different pressure plates" puzzle. We tried for untold hours trying to figure it out. Come to find out, you have to do intricate weight measuring to figure it out. Who'mever created some of the puzzles in this game needs to have a nose hair pull out, very, very slowly.

I didn't have any blood when I cam across him as well, what I did was teleport a party member on the altar where he is and hit that party member a couple of times till there was a blood pool and blessed that. Worked like a charm.

I'm currently playing alone as undead, so yeah. Bit of a problem with the whole blood thing. The thing is, that weights puzzle from the first game took me very little time because it was comprehensible, this thing is just wwbd?

How were you supposed to know how to do this? Like what in the game tells you this would work?

I only know of it because I looked at the forums, there is no actual way of finding this out in the game.

Just got to this part and it is complete nonsense there isn't a clue to this in the game. Are they trying to sell a DOS2 guidebook for $20 or something?

When me and the wife do it, both lone wolves, one of us takes our armor off and the other one hits them until there is a blood pool. Then we teleport the historian into it and bless him. Problem solved. But the last few times we did it we didn't even get any experience for it so what's the point?

I remember finding a Blood Rain skill book sometime before that, so I had Lohse cast it (I think it needs 1 point in hydro and 1 in necro). That puts out the fire, then you bless him. This was after reading about it online, though. I have no idea how someone would figure it out by themselves, unless they were literally trying everything. There are many more puzzles/quests like this in the game, with obscure solutions and no hints given. I guess they really wanted to go for that "old school adventure game" feel.
