Where does Beast go after you dismiss him?

I dismissed Beast and now I can't find him anywhere in and around Fort Joy. He's not nearby the ship wreck. I looked for about an hour and can't find him.
Could somebody tell me if you had a similar situation and if (and where) you found him?

You can find him again on the boat

They're supposed to be where you found them but it's possible they could escape with you when you progress the story beyond the fort. I wouldn't think the developers would ditch these characters and take them away from you without so much as a hint as to what would happen... Would be pretty short sighted considering you might want to change out characters in act 2.

Yeah, I just wanted to swap some items out and dismissed him. But as I am already in the Swamp maybe I'll run into him furter on the road. (I hope so)

Well, when I dismissed him while I was still in the fort, he went back to the exact same spot I found him still trying to pull out that plank from the shipwreck.

I have that problem with The red prince. I dismissed him after getting Ifan into my party in the square, shortly after I saw him at his usual spot looking over the sea with the black cat but when I tried to return a short while later (after dealing with Stingtale) to talk to the cat with Ifan the Red Prince and the cat are nowhere to be found, I can only find the Beast again.

There should have been some kinda hint or better yet, a map marker, to show where they currently are.

i am having the same issue! he is not at the original location, shipwerck. i really need him cuz he has good gear and i only wanted to dismis him temporarily!

You'll find him a bit further in the story.

If you've already made it to Amedial Sanctuary, or whatever, and then dismissed him, he will be at the Sanctuary. If you haven't left Fort whatever, then he'll be back at the ship.

He is in the Seeker's camp with the guy called EXTER.

Also when you finish the first act, you'll get a new chance to form your party; all of the origin characters you don't have as primary characters are there again.
