Early game guide *spoilers*
Since a lot of people are making posts about the game being difficult I figured Id make a guide to the beginning portion and some of the tougher fights.

1. If you start with a caster class kill all the magisters on the boat. It may take a couple tries but its a nice bit of XP you wont get otherwise.

2. Before you even touch fort joy get the red prince on your team and go far left from where he is before hitting fort joy. You should discover a dirt mound you can dig up to kill a zombie for XP and not too far after that stick close to the wall add you will find a hidden grotto. Kill the 3 turtles for XP and there is a chest you can destroy at the end of the beach for some loot.

3. Griff. Don't try this fight until you have atleast a party of 4 at level 3 or higher. Go up the ladder next to armyos cage and the fight should be a breeze. Talk to butter prior and she will help you in the fight. Focus down Griff and everyone else is a breeze. Make sure you browse everyone's where first as it will kill off some traders.

4. Crocodiles. Get on the wooden platform from the side, not the ladder. The high ground makes the fight easy but its very doable without it. Use oil and keep your tank infront of the crocks. Use whatever cc you can when you remove their armor.

5. The red prince assassin. This guy is really only a pain because of his blind. You should be able to take down his magic armor and cc him until he is dead before he can do much. If you want cc him for some reason just make sure to keep an opportunist character in his face and wittle him down with any damage you can muster.

6. Cave frogs. Once you follow the elf to the cave you can break a barrier to fight some frogs. Don't use poison on the regular frogs as they are immune.I recommend fighting crocs first for the teleport gloves so you can bring the frog off of high ground or put one of your melee characters up there with them. Magic armor will be big here as will magic shell. However lacking these two, just try to focus one frog at a time. The charged frog is ideal to kill first as stuns can we a major hindrance.

7. The houndmaster. The houndmaster is likely to be your first "tricky fight". Initiate the fight from the corridor with either a spell or dialogue and try to stay there. The rangers have a tough time fighting hitting anything in the hallway. If the opportunity presents itself send a melee character or summon after the rangers. If not just focus down the houndmaster and use any spare ap to step back further in the hall.

8. The arena. This will likely be an all out slugfest I don't recommend it before level 4. The enemies gear is very good and yours should be too. The mage and ranger will be a big pain so I suggest making them your focus. The dog can deal some damage but it is easy to cc him since he has no armor.

9. Kniles. Kniles can be a big pain. He deals tremendous damage and has a bunch of adds. Luckily you should be able to get a melee character to tie up the monks and focus down kniles before the meat golems escape. Pick one damage type and stick to it. Keep your group close so netherswap has minimal effect as he generally doesn't cast it on allies. You can teleport him to a lower floor for a high ground advantage if necessary.

10. Orivald. He is an absolute pain to take head on. Fight the magisters outside and the docks first to get as much XP as possible. When ready tel face Orivald enter sneak stance and open the door. Take the door to the right and go all the way up. I recommend starting with a fossil strike on Orivald if available as he can do some crazy damage. You may teleport the mages to the bottom floor if necassry but focus fire on Orivald is most important. Attacking head on will be a big challenge.

11. The void dweller. Avoid the void dweller fight until level 8 unless you are brave. Fight the lizards on the beach and enter the cave just past them for as much XP as you can get and solid gear. Approach the fight from the side of the beach not the castle. Teleport all your character over to the plot of land the void dweller is on. Focus him down and set a surface to deter the skeletons from coming up to where you are. Use heal spells on the undead when available if they have low physical armor. After the void dweller is gone it should be a fairly easy encounter.

12. Alexander. Alexander is a very tough fight in the early stages. He will likely outlevel you and outnumber you as well. Consider this a fight for survival. Heal up. Get good position. Set surfaces. And buff. Try to minimize the damage you take. Once the voidworm comes the fight is a breeze. Start whittling down his people and maybe throw a spell or two at the worm. He should kill the worm and whatever of his people are left should be easy pickings.
