Otherwise I'd be careful not to spread points out to much or you won't be able to get a DPS. If you want a real DPS you should focus your points in ways that'll increase your damage dealing abilities. This is in contradiction to the fact that you want a mixed build that uses strenght as well as intelligence based skills. You can certainly build a warcraft death knight, but I don't think it would be a very good build for damage dealing. Since the power of most skills scale with the level of the respective skill category, you'll have to keep investing in these in order to keep the skills viable.
I'd pick the following:
- For attributes focus on strenght and intelligence. Otherwise you won't dish out any significant damage. It's what I have experienced with my cleric who I wanted to fight in melee, as well as using hydrosoph and necromancer skill. At some point I stopped giving him points in strenght and focused on intelligence mostly.
- For abilities pick two-handed, and hydrosophist OR necromancer. I'd go with necromancer, it suits the sinister theme of a death knight more imo. You might also add points in warfare for more vitality (as stated above) and damage to physical armor. You can pick retribution instead of warfare, but picking both would be spreading the points to much. Warfare will definitely make him a more impressive fighter.
- Talents: "living armor" would indeed make a nice addition to the necromancer "bone cage" skill and general life stealing. "Executioner" is nice, as well as "picture of health" as mentioned above can help you with the lack of points in constitution and "ice king" if you want to roleplay a bit more. Not sure though when you get to pick so many talents.
