Bishop Alexander on Tac Mode
Has anyone been able to beat Bishop Alexander on tactician mode? Currently getting destroyed by him after many attempts. I'm curious if there's some sort of gimmick I'm missing.

Alexander on any difficulty is pretty bs until the worm shows up. That fight is more about keeping your people alive and chipping away at his people while they and the worm kill each other

Ya this fight is pretty much BS. I got lucky wher they kept going after Lohse and I had Uncanny Evasion on her so they kept missing. I was doing rly good until the worm showed up and just demolished my party while ignoring the Magisters. Pretty unfair IMO, infuriating :(

I struggled 3 or 4 times before finding one strategy that worked: started at the top of the long, wide stairway. Used teleport (skills and scrolls) to keep forcing back the melee mobs and dropping all the aoe I had on the bottom of the stairs. If you stay at the top of the stairs, many of the ranged mobs can't hit you easily. Once they break through en mass (3 rounds in), dropped back further and on round 4 the voidwoken appeared right at the top of the steps. At that point the mobs focused on the voidwoken which allowed me to aoe them all down. The ranged mobs were stuck at the bottom of the stairs during the latter battle, which helped tremendously and allowed me to head down and finish them after Alexander and the rest of the melee adds were dead. Very tough battle but doable!

i just teleported alexander alone to be able to wreck he face alone then i escaped when the worm show up he killed two of them after (but strangely that bastard dragon never show up maybe he broken ?) so i smile and make the worm to work in my bidding then against me :)

Did it on tactitian solo with fane as a summoner. I was level 8 at the time.

In early access I did it as early as level 6 with a party of 4 on tactician.

There's a variety of things you can do to make it easier:

- Start the fight from the upper right side entrance to force the enemies to funnel through a small gap is typically the best way to start the fight.

- You can focus all your attacks on 1 enemy then use the flee option to end the fight, heal up, reset all your cooldowns, then go back in.

- You can get super cheesy and block the main stairs with a row of barrels or other items to prevent any enemies from running around behind you if you are attacking from the right side.

- When the worm shows up, back off and let all the enemies focus on it. You then focus on only 1 enemy at a time

Another cheesy strategy to beat alexander on tac mode - have mage with fortify and armor of frost outside of battle (at the entrance to stairs to alexander behind wall) and let your tank soak dmg while you fortify/armor him everytime he get dmged. At somepoint your mage will struck in battle but at that time you should already kill some dangerous enemys (i prefer to kill gheist and assasin 1st).

Not really. It's entirely about tactics and positioning, especially in tactician mode. I'm playing a game with my friend, both lone wolves, he is melee I am ranged. I climbed up to the top of the highest platform and then I blocked the bottom and top of the ladder with a barrel while he was in conversation. When the battle started, Alexander ported up to me, and my friend flew up with Flight. We wrecked them on that small platform until the worm showed up.

Barrel blocks and such not a tactic at all. Its cheap tricks VS dumb AI.

The music that plays with the Alexander battle is so flipping epic

Wait until the Mordus fight...you pretty much have to kill him in one turn or it's not winnable! Even on classic...
alexander fight is all about staying alive till the drill worm appears, then just focus on one enemy at a time while they go after the worm. try to stay out of the sight from the worm so he can take on alexanders minions. from the act smart, use your skills wisely and hopefully you will get it. Mordus on 2nd chapter is a pain the butt but its easier once you wittle down his armor. he can be stunned and knocked down as well as blinded. it just becomes a matter of surviving his attacks till you get either mmagic armor or physical armor down and its over for him. he has over 1000 armor on both and 5.5k hp so yeah you better have some heavy hitters to make it go faster.

Dude..

I just want to tell you that you saved this game for me. I was literally about to ragequit in disgust at this encounter.

Your second tip about killing one enemy at a time saved this encounter for me, made it beatable.

Thank you. So ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ much.

I am now struggling at the fight on tactician. 3 tries and all didn't end well.
When the worm shows up, there are two choices of dialogue to Alex.
Do you guys think if there is any difference between them?
