I think fighter is the easiest

Damage wise, I would say Wizard. The combination of geomancy and pyromancy makes this class pretty deadly against pack of enemies. And it's straightforward gameplay.

Even ranger if you wanna be range. Maybe enchanter if you're into healing and buffs/supporting.

Soo there is no specific class for beginners. Only team comps for beginners. This game is really focused on having a organized team strategy where your characters compliment each others strengths and weaknesses.
Get yourself a class that has only one attribute (strength, int or finesse), so you can put all those points in one and make maximum dmg (later you can add more trees).
Get heals. 1-2 characters should have heal spells.
You need a tank. Fighter is pretty good for the start.
No need for a dedicated healer though, but as I said you need some heals.
One ranged and one melee dd.
Hope it helps

Don´t be afraid to mess things up. The game has a very high replay value. So just test stuff out.

You can also respec and change appearances (but not tags) after act 1 just incase you feel like you messed up something ..and if you change to a different spec any previous learnt books are kept but you can't use them till you go back to that spec :fhappy:

If you respec a companion, do you get every single point they spent back?
Even the ones from the class you assign it to give it a completely different starting point?
I haven't gotten that far and ocding a bit over my characters :P

Do you know how this works/interacts with Ifan and his Pet Pal talent?

Thanks a lot for your answer by the way, I can relax more now :D

Spellcasters

No idea about that one lol dunno if he's stuck with it or not :fhappy: and no worries :D

I think spellcasters are a little more complicated due to needing to know how to create surfaces and adequate placement, zoning is critical.

I would say probably an archer of sorts is very straightforward gameplay, either that or sword and board/2h

I'd say a modified Knight is the easiest start.
  • Modify to +2 strength +1 Wits.
  • Pick Geomancy and Warfare as your starting skills.
  • Pick thievery as your starting non-combat skill.
  • Pick Battering Ram, Battle Stomp and Fortify as your starting abilities.
  • Either, Lone Wolf or Executioner as your starting talent
As you level up put a couple points in polymorph, a point in hydromancy (Frost Armor, Rain and Heals), a point in Pyromancy (Haste and Peace of Mind) and everything else in Two-Handed and Warfare.

Lone Wolf is NOT a good idea for a beginner.
