DOS 2 and the bad review : A Story of succes
This is amazing.

Could u guys see what is happening right now ? Before the game was released there was tons of positive review, if i could say : no bad review.

Of course the game wasn't well known untill now because DOS 1 hadn't as many advertising as DOS 2. But this is interesting to see that since the game got out the review went to EXTREMELY POSITIVE to VERY POSITIVE and i think it's a matter of time before they get to POSITIVE and even AVERAGE (last one i doubt).

So what happened here ?

DOS has always been a game designed for specific people. You have to like old school RPG and turn based combat games mixed together.. The fact that the game is so beautiful and looks quite easy in pictures makes people come try this game. Much of them will not like this game because it's too hard or too long or unbalanced etc etc.. i noticed that a lot of bad review are related to difficulty.

There is a syndrome in the difficulty of a game. When you give the player the oppportunity to choose a difficulty they always want the hardest for challenge or because they feel that if they don't choose the hardest they will miss something or just look like N000bs to other people.

So what can we say about DOS 2 ? Is it a great game ? Or not ? What about the difficulty system that is in the center of all discussions?

In my opinion, explorer difficulty has nothing to do here.. i personnaly think that they should just give us 2 choices hard or normal.
Ps: i'm not english sorry for my writting.

I almost never start a new game on the hardest difficulty. So reading the reviews is a problem for me because I can't tell if they are from people playing on a hard difficulty level or an easier level. As an aside, I like games that have more than 2 difficulty levels because sometimes a person wants (or needs) to scale up gradually.

Well since they added mod support it should be an external possibility instead of proposing all of theses difficutlties. Scaling difficulty should be an option but in the case DOS it's irrelevant because they do not permit to switch between hard of easy during the game. Quite odd for a solo or local multiplayer game.
