Creating a full-scale campaign?
Hey guys.
It's a question about new Game Master mode. Can I create a full substantial campaign, which can be played by others, without game master? Like, say, a complete new game with new characters, NPCs, etc, etc, or would I need to use editor for this?

Editor I imagine. It lets you save/publish adventures, etc. You can mod the original game or make your own from scratch or use parts of the main game and tweak it, etc.

I see, so game master mode is more of a pen-and-paper in digital form? Just a tool to visualize campaigns while playing with friends, rather than creating 'mods' and such?

I haven't used it yet, but I think that is the gist of it. Seems you can do a load of things while in GM mode: loading up levels, placing down all sorts of prop, painting fire/ice/etc., adding creatures / custom ones, giving them skills, possessing people to use in battle. You can load up or edit pop-ups on the fly that give the party info or a choice to pick from, edit the world map, give/take items.

All sorts of things like that. But it seems as it is meant to be played with someone hovering over as the GM and doing things if/when needed. Can take a more hands off approach or touch every encounter, but yeah.

The editor lets you add things/tweak them to the main campaign or create your own adventure. Fully fledged journaled quests, actually create the custom maps - basically they created the game with this editor so you can do anything they did. And give it out for players to play themselves alone or you could play it yourself.

That said I'm pretty sure you can then use that custom campaign if you wanted to GM mode it, or load any maps you made with the editor into a GM ran game, etc. It can be handy for a more D&D/open feel. A player says "Why can't I try and climb over that wall?" and you can say "Roll a strength check" and teleport them up. That sort of thing. Or asking NPCs questions that aren't set in place.
