Wits level
How high do you level your wits?

Are there any important attribute requirements I should know about?

I would like to know this as well, I kind of hate missing the little secrets that you can't see without enough wits. But wits is a poor stat for most builds, so I don't want to endlessly pump it up to avoid missing out.

uhhhm, no it's not. Putting about 1 point per level/per 2 levels into wits actually means you have a realistic chance to go first during encounters which is crucial imo.

Just my opinion of it. I feel like you have to spread too thin with damage stats, con, and memory already. Wits doesn't feel like enough bang for you buck. You have to invest too much, constantly, for it to stay relevant to me. I don't like it personally for most builds.

Most characters shouldn't need Memory, and only a little Con at most if not just none at all. Both your HP and skill slots raise automatically as you level. Boost Memory if you're carrying around a lot of skill disciplines and want to use them all, boost Con if you plan on being on the front-lines harassing enemies, but otherwise these two can be mostly ignored. Plus, Warfare has a great Con replacement via traits, and Memory can be covered through Mnemonic. There's no trait that makes up for ignoring Wits.

My mage main has done okay so far just casting Peace of Mind on himself to find buried treasure and hidden quest-specific stuff, although I'm sure there's some really high-level stuff that I'm (or will be) missing out on. YMMV, of course, but I find myself needing damage stat, con, and memory far more than wits for my characters on Tactician.

Con is less useful than Wits on Tactician imo, as you will often find yourself chain CC'ed once your armor is gone and bonus damage is always nice. Then again, it has its merits to not being oneshot as easily and a few points being required for shields.

My Ranger has 25 in the main stat and 24 in Wits (yes I'm on low level) but it also helps with getting more crits and finding most of the stuff so far =)

Maxed it on my Summoner. The way encounters work in this game, you want ONE character with high wits, and ignore it on everyone else.

I think allowing all my characters to equip shields and avoiding the one-shot kills during tougher fights makes con a win for me -- at least for now. But I've been finding much better gear since getting Lucky Charm to 5, which often includes stuff with a lot of +HP and/or +resists, so I might respec out of con later on if I'm tanky enough to drop the shields. For reference, I'm currently rolling with two multi-school mages filling DPS, support, and CC; a ranger/support hybrid; and a warrior/summoner/support hybrid. No proper scoundrel for me, although I'm considering respeccing my warrior hybrid out of the summoner tree and into a warrior/scoundrel/support mix (pending sweet daggers and more money, of course).

I agree with this.

1. You need 1 WIT character for initiative. You need just 1 more point than enemies have.
2. Con is mostly useless in tactician, so it would mean that you can get away with 10 CON (or 13 CON for shield) in any difficulty.
3. If it's not WIT character, Invest in STR/INT/FIN until 40, and start to invest in WIT after that.

This is basic numbers for the most efficient build, but it might differ due to different strategy.

This is what I've been doing after realizing how borderline pointless Con is.

only know what I've seen so far but some of the quest related treasure chests in Driftwood I couldn't see without my high wits summoner.

Wits helps with initiative and discovering traps/secrets. It's a worthy investment.
