Romance...?
Howdy. Want to know more about romance in this game. Does it exist here? As a purely player-controlled, or NPC interaction? How many characters? Any choices? Or very little, inconsequential romance?

So far, as far as I know, almost nothing is known about the romance. We know it's in there because that was a specific kickstarter goal that was reached, just not sure how it's happening.

From what I can tell, it sems there's a few NPCs sitting around that you can flirt with (regardless of gender/origins) but other than that I have no idea.

After you escape from fort joy you have some dialogue options which count as flirting.
The latest video shows your PC rolling out of bed with Lohse. So it's in the game. Most folks wouldn't know much more than that due to most of them only having played the first act of the game only.

Hmmm I hope there's some gay options. I mean, I know you can flirt with the npcs regardless of gender, but being able to romance Ifan as a guy might actually convince me to roll a custom character.

I got flirt with Ifan and fling with Fane (creepy) as Lohse. Still can't stop laughing.

I've got it so that Butter is meeting Lohse in the next town because they are in lesbians. Now I just need to find a nice guy for Ifan...

Oh my. I'm looking forward to everything they've done with the love/hate goal. But to further answer, unfortunately as the first comment said, not too much is known yet of how romance will go. Beyond simply meeting the love/hate goal, however, they do actually say on the site for Divinity 2 that, "We’ve built a dynamic relationship system between you and your party members: expect all shades of friendship, rivalry and yes, even romance."

So, I can indeed confirm Ifan likes dudes. Not sure if characters roll both ways, or what not, as I haven't really experimented at all. I was talking to him randomly and noticed he came off over friendly. Decided to see where it went and it turned out he liked me. Kinda weird, considering I'm undead.

To be honest I still havent encountered when this system works. I'm somewhere in the middle of Act II, there was a moment of something romantical with ifan, but the rest of the group was like "yeah whatever".

There is romance, I know you can have sex with an NPC in act 2, but also there is some romance with companions in lone wolf after act 2.

You can romance all of your companions, regardless of your player character's gender or whatever origins you picked. Some of them are treated as flings, others are treated as a more serious relationship. Though if you're expecting Bioware levels of romance, don't get your hopes up.

I've already gone to the bone zone with Fane and taken a lizard prostitute for a ride. The fact that there's something is satisfactory for me. Also excited to see what happens when I hit on the rest of my party.

its in the game mainly with companions it comes up in dialouge more so toward the end and can influence how easy persuaion is on that npc idk about non companion npc's.

Yes. You can romance.

I think i broke lohse's heart :(
Altumnus Sep 21, 2017 @ 10:07pm
Every character can romance every character. You won't get a bed scene until just before Arx, but you can bed any companion regardless if you've flirted with them before. But I think some quest flag didn't flag properly, since all my companions have dialogue where they reference having slept with me. Or my PC is simply irresistible.
