Lohse and that thing inside her in the cave - spoilers inside!

Hi guys,

I've chosen to play as Lohse for my first playthrough and just visited the cave with the farseer elf - when you first talk to her, she offers you the name of whatever lurks inside her. When you attempt to accept, the thing tries to take over and take the elf apart.

There is an opportunity to use intelligence, strength or constitution to prevent this from happening, but since I've made Lohse a thief, none of those apply to me. I chose to bypass that challenge, went around, did some quests and returned later. With two swords, encourage and clear mind I buffed Lohse up to have 14 strength, but that still doesn't seem to be enough.

Can the challenge be beaten or is losing your ♥♥♥♥ and starting the fight the only option here?

Oh lol, durp. I went with running. That'll teach me to not slap my own MC around, I guess. :D

I was not able to persuade out of it after multiple attempts either. I wonder what the minimum stat requirement is.

There are 2 checks; the first one i was able to persuade with 15 int, then there comes a second checkwith wit, constitution (and a third one i forgot). I wait till wit is high enough.

Or you can just run out of the cave when it happens, then the fight ends, and you can go back and apologize.

Yeah, and I love the dialogue "options" you end up with as Lohse when you fail.

There are two checks but even if you get past them which is very hard it wont change the outcome and you will only get one non essential dialogue line per successfull check. Basicly Lohse cant cull her inner demon.

Oh well, I WAS wondering how I was supposed to beat that. I had considered completely bypassing the cave until I did most of the rest of act 1, but this saves me the trouble. ^^

I could avoid the fight with Persuasion 4. I wish I knew how much the chosen stat affects the outcome, it seems to be very little compared to the skill.

yeah, my first playthrough I was able to avoid fighting. This time on my second I can't figure it out for the life of me. I pass both checks, but she still attacks the elf.

If your'e trying to avoid losing favor with everyone in the cave, you could have Lohse go in the cave by herself I believe. As long as everyone else is outside, you should be okay.
