Is Verdas important????
Ok, i just healed Verdas and hes dead now and my last save was like hours away, so im not going to reload that. Now guys, is Verdas important? it seems like his survival is pretty important base on what is written in the journal.

I'm pretty sure there is no way to save him. He has 'Decayed - permanent' so he cannot be saved. I'm trying to find a work around, but basically no, he's supposed to die.

I thought about it afterward, but is it possible to remove his decay with Geomancy?
There is a Geomancy - starting - skill that buff armor and remove a few debuff among which Decay.

Using that + a conventional heal, could that do the trick? Did someone try it out?

I don't have that skill - but I know that during early access it wasn't working on Verdas.
as i understand any status with "permenent" on it is the creators subtle way of saying "you don't get to mess with this"

Has anybody tried blessing him, or can you only get bless after getting to him first?
Thanks for your replies, but my main concern is whether leaving Verdas alive (Not casting any SPELLS on him, leaving him be) is important? Cause i healed him for fun (knowing decay wil kill him) and hes dead now. Anyone knows the answer to that? thanks

dont think killing him will have any effect on the rest of the game.

Yeah, it doesn't do anything.

I haven't tried it with my newest play, but as joxertm22 said, in my previous playthoughs during early access it did not.

I don't think he can be saved.

would be nice to have any confirmation on the permanent tag,
does it means it won't wear off or does it means the player can't change?
As far as i see the status usually wear off in game turns and permanent could indicate that it won't wear off normally, meaning it must be removed.

So pls if anyone encountered anything else tagged as permanent which could be removed would explain and define the tag. Any proof on the matter will do.

After escaping Fort Joy, you'll hit this Gargoyle Maze, and in it, a burning Schola. He has "Burning - Permanent" debuff on him.

I am not kidding: Water Balloons, Rain, Water Barrel, Water Arrows, we even made Holy Fire, that man will not be extinguished.

Permanent means that you can not do anything to remove it, unless it is scripted.

That's not true you can cure the burning scholar. You must place him in blood and then bless the blood.

Actually you can extingush the burning undead with blood. Cast bloodrain on him (or hit an allie next to him), and then bless him.

Nobody in this game is essential. You can kill everyone and still finish the game. Probably shorten it up a bit lol.

In all honesty, the reason why is because Verdas is commented by Bahara and other lizard folk in the Sanctuary as being a Godwoken, so the magisters (unknowningly) are grabbing them up while the big wigs are (knowingly) forcing the permanent decay status on them.
