Magister Siwan?
She's the first NPC you meet. And fittingly, if you try to save everyone, the last NPC you'll meet in the tutorial. I tried to save her but the boat got snapped in half. So I'm on the beach and I'm looking for her but I can't find her. :( Did she die... ? Please tell me she didn't.

Still think she should have a chance at living in the game and add more to the story. Just like Atusa, so many options but no matter what she dies. Soooo.....

As much as I would have liked to have saved her, this is good too from a writing standpoint. Her death is there to be one of the reminders that this world you're entering can be cruel and dark. And for those returning from Original Sin, crueler than their last outing.

It's also done to make the player actually feel something for the characters in this world. To immerse them deeper into it and strengthen the crafted illusion of the game. So in the end, I really do appreciate why they did it.

Finish the bastard myself. No one *collars* Fane and see to live it.

It's a shame when you put her out of her misery and try to loot her there are no items. If they really wanted to go dark realism you would get a few extra gold for making survivalist choices rather than succumbing to base empathy.

"Important"? As dictated by who? I personally really enjoy it. They said this time around the game has a more realistic, dark tone. In the real world you can't save everybody.

I actually really do agree with this and the darker tone wholeheartedly. Nevertheless I'm actually legitly sad I couldn't save her.

It's actually kind of amazing because she wasn't even a halfway important character. You chat with her for like five seconds, listening to her condescensions before moving on. But I still came back for her. I still tried to save her. And I lost her...

This game is amazing.

We have two choices for Magister Siwan. As of now in the middle of Act 2 , I have not found any consequences which can tell difference between those two choices. The dev had said multiple times the game is all about choices. But sometimes I don't see any fruitful ripple effect.

I killed her for exp but most Magisters know they do human experiments

I killed her in my first play-through, then tried saving her in the second. Given the situation it seems plausible that you just can't save her in time, no matter what. Heck you can't even save yourself.
I agree that it would have been nice if she had more story to tell, but... apparently devs didn't consider her important enough to make any consequential events. (Though, yes, she is the very first NPC you encounter in the whole game (if you don't count the skull), and I think that's the precise reason why she didn't just turn into a puddle of meat and blood like every other Magister did after Wendego's 'scene'.)

(Oh, and I wouldn't call it a "lack of choice". You can kill her, leave her be, or try saving her. She will still die, due to your lack of omnipotence :P

Pshh, the skull is the first NPC you encounter and the real travesty is he doesn't make it off the ship with you. I hope he's out there, snarking below the waves...

Important thing to keep in mind is that you're literally only alive (same with the other godwoken) because some divine voice protected all of you. None of the magisters or other sourcerers received that treatment. In fact, the only two sourcerors who survived only lived because they were on the lifeboat along with the other godwoken.

That's right. Only two people actually survived the ship attack. The rest of the people died or had divine plot armor.

MAYBE I SHOULD HAVE DIED WITH HER. o_o

Devs can atleast arrange or program the choices for Magister Siwan as such that leave her dying give you nothing, slit her throat give some coins and exp ; saving her will give some loot and exp.
