Which is annoying because a couple of hours ago everything was working just fine.
Although this doesn't affect the running of the game, it does need to be fixed!
The main annoyance is launching through Steam, have to wait a good 30 seconds before the connection attempt times out and the error message appears before the game actually starts up.
For now I'm just launching the exe directly via a shortcut rather than through Steam.
I took it slow this time, processHacker [a taskman alternative] handles' tab can return reg keys that either can read or write, the key written by SupportTool.exe is:
You can then quite easily for yourself figure it out from here. The key data may return data as such:
- If you set UploadAllowed to "no" support tool will still 'pop up'.
- If you set Accepted to "no" support tool AND the game will fail to initalize
Delete the "Larian Studios" or "SupportTool" key [or folder if you dont understand] , run Divinity again, youll be prompted with the agreement, if you decline, well, welcome to the same boat as before, even with a reset and opt out, the issue still continues to occur [for me it still does.]Oh well... Stick to shortcuts, or waiting. Not sure why this occurs to some of us.
I rejected that and get the same message, just wondering if it's the cause.
